In Chico California

 

Very cool! You've definitely hit some of the cool spots to see out there, there is a ton of stuff to explore in the area. I've spent many weekends at the "cabins" in Bonanza Gulch camping with friends. A couple of friends love the area so much that they bought a cabin off of the road that comes in from the 14 a few years ago (it's all private land off in that direction by the highway).

A couple of other places to check out in the area are (I forget the actual names, but it's what I've always called them) the garage and the bone yard. The garage is just the skeleton of an old garage out in the middle of nowhere and the bone yard is a collection of old cars dumped out there years and years go. We've actually used the "garage" one time to replace a lower A-arm on a friend's 4Runner years back--it conveniently has a nice big concrete slab, so it worked out awesomely to do repairs on and we kept the idea of it being a "garage" alive hah.

But as you know, there is a TON of stuff to explore out there. It's fun to just pick a road and go sometimes.

And yeah, the trails off Randsburg and Garlock can definitely be a little harrier (and more fun ) than the EP15 entrance off the 14.

Took a 4000 mile roadtrip to pick up a GFC and find some good snow up in Canada, eh. Did not disappoint.

 

Lone Rock at Lake Powell

Last I heard, this area is now just about dry :/

 

The boat launch ramp at Hite is so dry that you can't even see water from it. Can't-even-SEE-water...
