Beautiful area. Only been fortunate enough to explore this area of northern New England (L. Champlain) once back in the late 70's, but the impression it left on me is permanent even today..

Hunted up there from a buddy/co-worker's camp in Bakersfield (VT) on 15 acres he owned and caught some big Brookies in some secret spots too. The game wardens were wicked strict up there I remember, but they always lit right up with a smile and gave us tips when we showed them our Seasonal non-resident licenses upon request. Memories like it was yesterday. (except it isn't) I have been to the Lake George area too. Beautiful as well. Got checked by two Fish and Game Wardens on that lake too: in a canoe. Big water that one: BIG. I think they were more concerned that we were yayhoos with crappy life-vests (or worse: none) more than if we had fishing licenses. (we didn't..... but no fishing gear either.)

That's always a good thing.
