Just finished my first laser removal appt. I cannot recommend enough to not get shitty tattoos you'll want gone. 0/10 was not fun. Thankfully I'm just trying to lighten for coverup, I can't imagine sitting through 8-10 sessions for full removal. Friend of mine had a whole sleeve, back, and stomach done so you can't really even tell. No fuckin thanks

How big was your tattoo? Thinking about getting a small tattoo removed. Was curious about the process

I have 3 sections, each about 15 square inches. Go get a couple consults, they should be free. Only pick places that use Pico lasers, Q switched lasers are old tech and requires up to 6x the sessions. Darker colors easier to remove. White cannot be removed, it turns black.

I have a small rose on my inner wrist. The artist was a newer tattoo person (don’t judge:anonymous:) It should have been done as watercolor so no outline….. the outline ran and just looks like a black rose with minimal color. It’s a pretty small area. How many lazer sessions should removal take with the updated equipment on most tattoos?

This is what I’m working with

Yeeesh. So little rose remaining. I don't judge, I have tons of shitty tattoos and a handful of amazing. You're probably looking like 5-6 sessions with a decent wait time in between. It takes time for the skin to heal. A good place will use different lasers, one for the ink solids, one for the scar tissue surrounding the ink particles, and one for skin texture and surface scarring

In general, would you say your shitty ones are shitty work or just the age of them?

I have 4 and no regrets on any of them, just curious

The ones I'm removing were great professional tattoos, but happen to be way outdated and on my arm, which I have other plans for. Also, time and sun have not been good to them, they're not anythi g like what they used to look like. I have shitty quality ones that I'm not removing and still love, idgaf, I worked in a shop for a few years ages ago and you end up with a bunch of random stuff that way

I got it cuz it’s my moms name and her favorite flower…… I wish I would have known more, I would not have had it outlined, but I’d still get it. :anonymous:

I love what all of mine are and what they represent….. not all of them are the best quality. I should have done more research.

I have 4 and all within the past 8 years so I don't see myself changing my tastes in them, as they're all things I've enjoyed or am almost all my life.

I’ve had 3 sessions of laser so far on my forearm (I think it’s a few pages back). Debating another session or just waiting for the cover up, slated to start in March.

Man do I agree. It sucks arse. But. With the way the tattoo looked and how much I despised it…the pain was worth it.

I'm amazed at how much lighter mine looks already. Coverup should be super easy

I’ve got my elbow, shin, spine and right up to my arm pit tattooed. Those were cakewalks compared to laser. Best I can explain it is to take a rubber band, skinny one, and snap it repeatedly. Then times that by 10.

Idk if I’ve got the pictures still, there in my ig highlight if you wanna see the process. Give me a few…

For the size of my arm it was about a 10-15min session of pain, followed by “really bad sun burn” for a week-ish?

So that last session was May of 2022…
Today it looks like this (don’t mind the red spots, blood work and mosquitoes.) Either one more session or just straight cover up. I’ll find out in December when I get my first drawing for the cover up.

2 days post laser. Almost no redness, zero blistering, so far the laser itself was the worst part

I would like to see it. It does sound like it feels like lazer hair removal.
