So…. Wait until boating season is over?

I always sunblock all of my tattoos whenever I’m out on the boat.

I’d wait! It’s not so much the sun but the water that could cause an infection. As you mentioned, this has deep meaning and you want it to be perfect.

I'm saying 2 weeks is too soon. Definitely continue to use sunblock, but not on a brand new tattoo. I don't care what anyone says, at 2 weeks it's barely healed, but still susceptible to damage. Just wait till after boat season

+1 on waiting. When I want a tattoo I try to plan around not being out too much in the sun or being in the water at all for like 3 or 4 weeks depending on how big it is. I recommend putting Hustle Butter or similar on it during the first month and as needed. I think its helped keep mine looking fresh all these years. Good in the sunblock!! Im the same way

I didn't like Hustle Butter at all, I don't get the hype. The smell, ugh. It offers only protection, zero moisturizing qualities. I've really been like this stuff, after a week with saniderm, this Eucerin is awesome

My artist recommends 10 days, though she says I "could" get away with a week because I heal so fast. I just wait until winter, which I've taken to calling tattoo season. I want to work on my trucks, ride my bikes and hit the pool every day.

4 years ago I had to take a last session for the front/sides of my forearm on Memorial Day weekend b/c it was all I could get before fall. I did it and don't regret it but never again, between having to raise my arm in the pool and the Slayer concert the day after a 4 hour session...

Always used Aquaphor and zero issues.

I take every spring and summer off to avoid any issues, and honestly it’s damn uncomfortable for it to be so hot/sunny on a fresh tattoo

Not a cancel forever, right!? Just a cancel until boat season is over. You want it to heal perfectly and be everything and more it's meant to be for you.

Aquaphor works fine. I usually will go with what the artist recommends.

Not a forever cancel right?! Its definitely worth waiting. Youll definitely want the tattoo that you've been waiting for to look its best after too!

Same here. Used it for all of mine and they’ve all healed just fine.

I used aquaphor for my first half dozen or so tattoos but switched to recoveryderm now. It’s just so much easier, plus you don’t have to worry about it getting dirty or etc.
