I wish I could find a nice set of JDM wheels in 17” diameter.

 

Most old school wheels or jdm wheels are in 15’s and 16’s

I wouldn't go for these seeing at they're 11" wide. There's really no need for that wide of a wheel unless you're going to build one of those wild Icelandic offroad trucks. lol

@Quality Taco Wheel clearance to the brake caliper depends on the design/shape/thickness of the mounting pad of thr disc/face. Its not offset, backspacing, width, etc. althought it plays a part.

I hope my memory serves me right....my wheel knowledge is getting "classic" as I age. In 2pc and 3pcs wheel terms, there's outer lip, inner barrel, disc/face. The mounting pad of the disc/face is important for caliper clearance. That's why some reputable jdm wheel companies offer different "disc/faces" depending if there's a BBK upgrade.

 

What kind of weights are we talking about with vintage 15” JDM rims? M

 

I have these in 17” f a Prado. I’m in NY if someone is interested. Maybe @savethewheels can give an idea as to what that premium/fair price would be.

 

Re-barrel could be possinle…an expensive project but could be worth it if you found a design you really like.

I’d do it if I came across some Bergs 5 spoke that were a decent price.something like this..in a more flat face.

Just scooped these up off marketplace for fairly cheap. These are 15x8 WORK CRAG et0. I am still trying to find more information on them but it is very limited. If any of you know something please let me know.

 

YOHB? You just rolled thru my work parking lot. I came out to try and say hi but you were gone too quick.

 

Anyone know if the barrels for these older vintage wheels are pretty standard/available? I found a set of Lodio Drives for cheap but the offset sucks (probably the reason for the low price). But if a better offset barrel is available maybe I've finally found a set to jump on.

 

If you can cross reference the bolt pattern for then there are quite a few companies that supply lips/barrels. You will spend a pretty penny though unfortunately. I would say if you can run spacers for now that’s the cheapest way around it. I am doing the same with 3/4-1” spacers
