I got lucky, was about to pass out for the night and I saw the post. It had already been up for 2 hours and jumped on it quick. Hence the risk on the wrong offset haha.
    Good luck on your search!

Nice find! Likely this is proof that endless searching sometimes pays off.

    RAYS Engineering
Model: Volk Racing "Grand ST" (according to the barrel label)
    17x7 +25
    6x139.7

This looks to be a 6-lug variation of the Volk Racing C-Ultra that enthusiasts are likely familiar with.
The decorative plate and hexcap that covers the lugs and hub is an interesting choice, but aligns with other similar styles of 6-lug wheels from the same timeframe.
The wheel looks to be 2-piece construction, with the inner and outer being a single, seamless hoop. The recessed mounting hardware appears rounded off on the heads. The face is face mounted on a reverse outer lip. Notice the face is stamped VIA and JWL, but not JWL-T.
All in all, an interesting wheel but with the weak specs and lack of JWL-T standard, I wouldn't recommend use on a modern, heavier truck.

Do you ever see anything in 17" with only a 7-8" width and a decent offset which is suitable for newer/heavier trucks. I've been searching high and low for a narrow 17" wheel (new or vintage) and they're all but non-existant outside of OEM wheels.

Sounds like I need to adjust my search parameters cause I don't think I've been seeing those. I'm also kinda being picky in wanting a set of 5 but I may need to drop that requirement and come back to the real world, haha.

So far the only 17's I've been finding are either too wide or have too positive of an offset.

@clenkeit - Decent 17s are much less plentiful than 16s, that's for sure. I see a few styles more often than others, but rarely in sets of five. Just to name a few:
    -SSR Spiel Stadt
    -Epsilon Campeao Do Mundo
    -Raguna ZZYZX
-various Lodio Drive models (Grenade, for example)
    -4x4 Engineering Bradley V
Bear in mind that a few Japanese manufacturers are still in business and making 6-lug wheels.

Thanks! I've got some saved searches setup for most of those keywords above.

Do you have any experience getting these old wheels rebarreled? With the stats I'm seeing out there I wonder if it would be smarter to try and pick up a cheap set in a bad spec then just rebarrel them to something that would work for me. Conceivably I assume I could also start with 16" faces and step them up to 17's perhaps. Just not sure if all that would cost a fortune.

All depends on your budget. Here's my perspective.

    - Volk TEs $2.5-3.5k
    - used classic jdm 6lug $1-2k
    - upsizing 16->17s $3-4k for new lips, barrels and labor to machine off 4 faces and convert to multi pcs.
    - rebarrel 4x multi pcs wheels for ideal offset with new lips/barrels. $2.5-3.5k

My personal experience was having to repair 1x cracked outer lip on my SSRs. Vendor said I had to buy a new lip and barrel. I didnt change offsets, etc... they had to split my wheel, install it on the new lip/barrel with existing hardware. $800 repair bill

I've also inquired with chamoroboy about multi pcs conversions and step ups. I wanted to do a multi pcs conversion of the stock 17" tundra/Sequoia wheel. I gave up on that project. What I wrote up top was indicative of his price range.

@savethewheels people are sleeping on those SSR Spiels. Seller doesn't have them promoted properly.

The challenge there is finding something that's structurally equivalent to and up to the task of off-road use. There are shops that fit the bill, but it's not cheap.

Yeah, those prices are up there. Not sure I wanna get up into the $3k range. I could justify topping over $2k I think for an ideal spec in great condition.

Bummer those costs are so high. Rebarreling seems so easy, I guess I just don't understand. Aren't most of these JDM wheels already multi-piece and essentially just an "unbolt old barrels, bolt on and seal new barrels" kinda job? I've gotta be missing something cause it just sounds too easy to me.

    :(

Yup, it isnt rocket science. Sometimes the two halves are welded together and you need to go to town with an angle grinder to crack it open. Just be meticulous.

these are LAND FIGHTER Z-1 wheels and man these remind me of the lamborghini diablo factory wheels, so cool! Any one know if they came in 17in or were just just stuck with 16in? i would just use them as a set for a drag racing tire.

What’s the consensus on running a 16x8 +0ish offset WITHOUT a spacer on a 3rd gen. Do most clear the caliper without issue? I understand the wheel style will dictate caliper clearance, but are there any that are notoriously flat and require spacers? Asking for a friend:rolleyes:
