What would you call that brown metal (maybe wood actually?) cabinet on the bottom with pull tabs? I think they historically held index cards? Looks perfect for nails/screws/bolts storage

It's a library card catalog cabinet. I found it in a neighbors garage clean out years ago. Cluess where he got it.

Removed the legs and fitted it into my workbench (a recycled cooking demo cabinet) gutted the hardware in the drawers, lined their bottoms to cover gaps where hardware came out. Almost all drawers have tools, not much hardware stored there. Works excellent, amazing what they will neatly hold.

Congrats! These things are beefy. My 60” has to weigh close to 200 lbs empty! It wasn’t too bad, took me about an hour and a half to put together, but that included cutting up the box and pallet that it shipped on/in and making it all fit into my garbage cans. The directions weren’t the best, but it’s basically just a big box, so there wasn’t too much head scratching.

I've always wondered how those capture padlock systems work. Does it capture some kind of tensioner and the small movement of unlocking the padlock frees it up enough to open the latch?

Yes, the body of the lock pops out of the way. Works great on my JoBOX.

No steel box is 100% proof, but in a locked, double alarmed space - with a barely accessible lock - not too shabby. I or the sheriff will be there armed while ass is still thinking about drilling the lock or hacking one of the panels.

AA9CE201-0E35-45BB-BD2A-838C4A7C60B7.jpg Assembled in the breezeway because no room in the shop and that is where the driver and I dropped it

Assembly was reasonably easy but I was by myself and it’s friggen heavy. The M12 impacts made short work of it but how many times have you used 16mm sockets and closed ends?

Never mind the cattywompous crap on top. I just threw everything in the breezeway that I was using on top, cleared a space and rolled it in the shop.

How do I get a free use license for Solidworks? I thought they offered it for free, but I can't seem to find it. When I load up the program it says 'Trial ended' and I can't do anything.

I am unsure about Solidworks. I am using Fusion 360- It's also free for personal/hobbyist use. I've slowly been working on my modeling skills as I work towards getting a 3d printer. So I model everything I can.

This is my mess. Built it from leftovers from enclosing the carport. It's mostly a catch-all

And one of my toolboxes has a top on it, but yet again, another place for crap to collect
