Pricing and ease of integration is going to make or break those I think. If they can make it easy to connect to batteries and control without melting your bank account, it’ll be a winner.

When it's as easy and is as affordable as an LS or whatever swap then that's the ticket. Same power but no worry about tuning and bolt-ons.

So far it's $4k just the motor with gear reduction. It's all the other stuff. Batteries, controller, charger, A/C, power steering, vacuum pump, BMS, inverter. I'm sure they will offer matching kits. The torque will be more than a Taco as is now so this would definitely move it nicely.

Yeah. I’m curious how people feel about sound. Some people love the sound of exhaust, no good way to replicate that and not feel silly.

I can get used to it. Sort of has that straight cut gear sound of some high end sequential shift transmissions.

I’ll miss it on some stuff. A nicely tuned exhaust note on the right vehicle is a nice touch.

But I like quiet and wouldn’t miss it on my own stuff.

If it weren’t for all the distracted driving in the city, I’d be commuting on an ebike at some point. Would be great for not showing up to the office sweaty.

Could you imagine how quiet a city would be with all EV and a bunch of zombie heads staring at their phones walking down the street?

If you spent half that amount of time researching the ills of the petrochemical industry including wars you just might reconsider. Nothing is free. Nothing has zero impact.

Lmao. You don't think what just happened in Afganistan has nothing to do with Lithium?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Typically I do not spend 40 min fueling up but I see your point. People forget that we still do not have an effective method to recycle these batteries and our power grid is our most fragile and overwhelmed infrastructure so there is that.

Propelling a leaf 100 miles might hurl my pickup down the road for 20 so we still have a ways to go IMO.

Recycling methods are being worked on. Need to move faster and hopefully the new infrastructure bill will help. Well except Texas, they're on their own...lol But not enough EV's in America currently to put a strain on the power grid.
