The bass is clean and if your mids and highs don't crack from Mariah you've got a pretty impressive system.

Try throwin in some candlebox. I think thats them. It has some real crisp vocals and guitars followed by some rock. It will definately let you know where your treble should be.

We used to jam that in HS. Back before bass in your car was cool. We had to steal Dads Cerwin vega speakers out of the living room.

EDIT: It has to be the cassette tape.

Another vote for Incubus "Echo". "Nice to know you" is nice too. Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray, John Mayer.

I actually selected this song after recently replacing my radio for the initial assessment. There's not really anything more dynamic than a synthesizer and this song has a lot of panning left to right, it's plenty crisp yet fat on the low end. The only thing you really can't test for with this song is how much punch you have in your system.

Not so much for testing purposes but it's just a tradition(first songs played) since I put a 8 track player in my first car..a '69 Chevy Impala coupe many moons ago.If they both sound good..then I know I will like the stereo..I will carry on the tradition hopefully a little later this summer..:)
