I took a visit to one of my local shops and was told a 2 1/2” front spacer would level out my 18 sport. I asked about using a 1” block in the rear and he assured me there was no need to do so.

Seems like a lot of tacos are having the typlcial 2/1 kit put on making them level and sitting with a sexy stance! What am I missing here? I’m afraid to install this 2 1/2” spacer and be fu*ked with a headache, gassing problems and not being able to return it.

Any suggestions or advice I’d greatly appreciate it.

He could be saying this because of the sensors behind the grill. Or, he could be trying to convince you to keep the factory rake so it doesn’t squat when you haul something. I would check other shops before settling for something.

I honestly don’t think he is smart enough to know much about these sensors lol. I almost feel he was just trying to sell me a product that was sitting on his shelf for who knows how long.

I ended up ordering a 1” block not to long ago and will keep my fingers crossed this 2.5”/1” will work out and I won’t have any issues.

Update with photos when you do it. I’m considering a 3+2 around the beginning of the year. Wanted to install a lift earlier but life got in the way

That’s kind of where my thoughts were, he threw me off when he explained my ass end is 2.5” higher and this 2.5” will sit the truck level. I’m embarrassed and ashamed of my lack of knowledge on this project.

I greatly appreciate the kind folks here apart of this forum that are kind enough to help us noobs out.

The whole point to that low range kit is that their spacers stock on top of the coil, not in it. The top plate spacer is a way safer and better option than the rough country. Should have done your research on top plate spacers vs coil spacers. Your components won’t last long

You will likely need it at 2”. Mine went out twice in under 3 months before I got the ECGS bushing. It’s just a must because the needle bearing will go bad sooner or later.

    1.75” front 2.5” rear

At least on my truck there is a 1.5 inch difference front to back. i went 1.5 up front and 1 in the rear and have exactly 1 inch of rake.

Double check your lean. i thought i had the same lean on a flat surface in my garage....one day i measured it level and was scratching my head and i realized the parking brake was disengaged. I went back and fourth and every time i got out with the parking brake on it looked like a 1/2 inch of lean.....off and no lean. Someone else in this forum mentioned that you get lean with aftermarket springs.

I just did 1.5" front top-mount spacer(actually about 5/8" thick) and a 1" block in the rear. I just wanted a little more aggressive stance and did not want the ride changed with stiffer springs. I got the components off Amazon all for about $120. Here are the components and a before and after pic.

And I still have atleast a rake of 1" which I wanted. I don't want to put something heavy in the bed and have it sitting a$$-end low...

OMG! I purchased the exact same setup 2 months ago. I had to take a cutoff wheel to cut down the front studs so it would fit. its so slick you cant even tell its lifted because all the parts are black.

That is correct. I had the strut assemblies on the bench and put the spacers on and had about 3/8" of factory studs sticking out PAST the spacer. I tightened down the nuts and used a Sawzall to cut off the excess. Otherwise your strut would be riding on the studs vs the spacer. I'm loving how it turned out!
