Got an overnighter in a few miles from home. Of course we had weeks of beautiful weather and then on the day we go camping we got rain. On the plus side, my daughter is finally starting to get over her fear of campfires. She's almost ready for marshmallow roasting. We'll just need a stick about ten feet long.

Yeah, yeah, it's a paved site with water and electrical, neither of which was working, so that counts as roughing it, right? :p

I have a 5x9 Hiker Offroad model. We got it last February and I've used it probably 30 nights since then. We absolutely love it and so far has gone everywhere I've wanted it to. Ignore the old tow vehicle, I haven't had it out yet with the new Tacoma.

Mods since this picture--removed graphics, improved interior, added a roof rack--more to come.

I have a Runaway Campers Rangerunner model. These are pretty affordable, require only a $500 deposit and come from the factory rather basic and stripped down. I've been making various mods and additions to suit as far as cargo storage, off-grid power, ventilation and heating.

Is that the ARB awning/room setup? How do you like it?

It is an ARB awning room, and I really like it. I haven't had it up in really stormy or buggy conditions. There are some gaps between the awning room and the trailer that would be problematic in such conditions.

It was a awesome sunny day in North Idaho today so went for a drive over to Libby Montana and checked these out http://sherpatrailers.com/ .
They are built onsite and look pretty stout. They are pretty basic, (you can accessorize to your liking) but if your like me, you already have a stove, cooler, Etc... I have had Jeep trailers, built my own, & tent trailers, I think one of these will be my next trailer.

They are great people with mad build skills. Love the simplicity and rugged durability. Highly recommend them!6E252EF9-B0A7-4820-A951-861A7AB1F27F.jpg

For those of you with Hikers, Runaways, etc., how long was the build time/pickup after ordering? Thanks.

Maybe when I'm older I'll get a camper with inside facilities but I don't need em. I also have heat in my teardrop thanks to handy heater. Also have ac so I'm set lol.

I literally bought my Runaway off of a transport trailer as it was making its way from the manufacturer in Florida to the No. California dealer. There are a handful of dealerships scattered around (CA, OK, PA, TN) that generally have stock. The dealer had posted photos on his Facebook page of the available trailers with descriptions of options while enroute. I picked it up about two weeks after I made my deposit, though I think it landed in CA maybe 3 or 4 days later. I purchased the trailer this way because I had procrastinated on making the purchase well enough ahead of time of a planned family vacation. For a factory order, I was quoted a 4-6 week build time and 1-2 weeks for delivery. The trailer I bought from dealer stock wasn't exactly the trailer I would have ordered from the factory but in hindsight I think worked out better for me.

Here’s some interior shots. And we added two windows after we bought it. There is a lot of different options. Www.sherpatrailers.com

Thanks. I've heard some folks had very long wait times with some manufacturers.

Much of it depends on which manufacturer you decide to go with. Some it's a matter of a few weeks, some it's over a year.

I put a deposit down on an Escapod and it's a 15 month lead time. They just moved into a larger manufacturing facility so their times are coming down. But for me, I'd rather wait for the product that I really want vs. settling for something that'll be delivered quickly.

It sure does! It’s really nice to get home and just park it in the garage.
