Surprisingly a 2dr wrangler on on 35's gets over 2mpg better than the tacoma towing this camper. Could be break in on the truck or how the roof line of the jeep was slightly above the roofline of the trailer

Thanks for posting that. My Treeline is 10 years old on orignal tires and rubber torsion. It had 15 in clearance, but is bouncy as hell. I'm at the poin where I nees ro replace a couple tail lights, upgrade the shore power/inverter, add solar, and put a maggiolina on top, and I think it is time to add brakes. These Timbrens for 2000 lbs should be about perfect.

Hey thanks again! I cannot tell you how much we are enjoying this little (bit bigger than a teardrop) trailer.

You take that T2 crew-cab and a tear drop camping? TOO COOL. Legit setup. My compliments.

Bumping this thread, I recently returned from a 2-week trip to Colorado. I towed my teardrop up Ophir Pass!

Thanks Jim. We absolutely love this little trailer. It is perfect for the two of us and our four legged friend. While it lacks a shower, we are okay with that, because we are already used to using a shower tent and our hot water on demand system works well. If we lived closer, I’d be happy to let you try it out.

A few more pics from the trip. I drove solo from WA to TX, flew the rest of the family out and then drove back through TX, NM, CO, UT, NV, ID, OR and back into WA over a little more than 10 days. Weather ranged from 110* to 44*.

Here's another view from Monument Valley. Highly recommended loop. We thought about camping there but the weather was iffy. We might have been ok but I'm a bit more conservative when traveling solo. Also, going up Moki Dugway was beautiful but I didn't get any pictures. You'll have to look it up.

The next area that we really liked was south of Dugway at the Simpson Springs campground. I don't think the wind dropped below 30mph the entire time, but the views were beautiful. We were the only ones there and had the pick of sites when we arrived, so I was able to grab one that put the trailer galley out of the wind.

All in all, a good trip to finish off the summer.

IIRC, there is a really camp spot at the top of Moki Dugway - albeit, a little breezy. :D

If there is it would have been sporty that night. We had a heck of a cell roll through during the night. We were camped at Goosenecks and the thunder/lightning chased off two of the vanlifers that were camped nearby; it was just us and the Germans in the rental RV left in the morning. We didn't get much wind or rain, just an amazing show for about six hours. We were just on the edge of it though. It caused flash flooding to the north and west of us.

My wife was a bit nervous about Moki Dugway due to the signs leading up to it advising against trailers and vehicles over 10k gvw. We did fine going up, the only traffic we saw on the road was a fully loaded dump truck heading down.

It have been a fun night up there. The place I am remembering is very exposed - but the view is fantastic!

I did not pull my trailer down Moki, but I don't think it would have been a problem. A big one, probably, but my small teardrop - as I'm sure yours does - goes anywhere my truck goes.
