    Canada Eh!

I certainly prefer the aesthetics of OEM.

Does anyone have a slo-mo video of the Morimoto sequential lights in action? Should be a much smoother action as they have a lot more LEDs. I believe @MESO advised the oem lights have only about 6 leds for the running light, making it more “choppy”.

They all suck and blind me when they are oncoming traffic because unlike Europe, we don't have reasonable standards and automatically adjusting headlights.

I thought I’d like the Morimoto but when I saw it in person it didn’t look like it belonged on the truck.

2020 OEMs look amazing in my opinion.

I would do the Morimoto. I have seen a few of their other headlight assemblies on other vehicles personally and they are very impressive!! Plus the turn signal is really nice!

I don’t like the alien eyes off the morimotos lol. Maybe if it was a dual projector like the tacoma beast ones I’d considered them.. I really like the 2020 headlights!

"They all suck and blind me when they are oncoming traffic because unlike Europe, we don't have reasonable standards and automatically adjusting headlights."

Simply not true. Our lighting standards in the U.S. are just different than the E.U., better in some ways, worse in others. The U.S. standards are actually biased slightly in favor of the driver being able to see better and studies cited by Virgil over at Candlepower say that overall traffic safety is higher when everyone can see better even when slightly more glare might exist. Oncoming lights don't blind you, they just make you temporarily uncomfortable. Of course, whatever light you have, accurate headlight aim is important and is rarely achieved.

As far as LED's being blue, they're not. They're rated in Kelvin and are generally slightly cooler than daylight. Noon summertime daylight generally measures in the 5200-5500 Kelvin range. The TRD Pro LED's I have in my Tacoma measure about 6400K, but since we humans have sort of an automatic white balance built in, we perceive them to be more or less white. I've been driving with these since the first of the year and never once did they feel "blue" at all. They are perceived as white. While you can certainly see the comparative differences in a side by side comparison, that's not what's important. The exact color temperature is not important as long as it falls within a fairly wide range as you will see it as white. Hell, the factory LED's on my GF's brand new Forester measure closer to 7000 Kelvin on the Sekonic meter and are some of the best lights I've ever used. Actually prefer them very slightly over the new Toyota units.

All of the factory lights have to meet all the legal standards and do, but not so with most of the third party units like the cheap Chinese crap. I'm guessing that the most egregious offenders are those idiots who drop LED bulbs into halogen reflector headlight assemblies and are spraying light pretty much everywhere but where it needs to be.

This! Thank you for spending the time on writing this. The only headlights that blind me on the road are lights not aimed correctly or idiots with leds or hids in reflector housings. I still prefer hid in a projector because I like the 4500k to 5000k warm white.
