I got a letter on the recall on the leaf springs yesterday. I went in this morning and they looked at me truck. they said they have to order the parts and they would call me when the parts came in.

I would check to see if any one else needs it done. The one guy told me it's the springs and all the bolts holding the rear end in.

Does something have to be wrong with my springs to get the recall done? I got the letter too. They squeak but no sagging or anything major.

Yea I don't believe there is any defining point for them to change the leaf springs. Again i think.. .They (leaf springs) have a chance of breaking/failing and puncture gas tank so they just replace them before that point.

I took it in and I was told it was the hardware that they replaced. it took them about 3-4 hours to do it. I have not looked to see what looked new may look tomorrow

I was not experiencing any issues with my springs, no squeaking, no sag, no significant rusting, no evidence of cracks, but, after inspection I was confirmed for replacement. Took about a day for the arrival of parts, probably they have a rotating supply showing up, and I left my truck at dealer for a day to complete the replacement. I don't know exactly how long it took, but I had a call by mid-day that it was complete and ready to pick up.

I crawled under and confirmed the springs, shackles, mounts, and bolts were all new:
