my nitto TG's have started to fail in the sidewalls (basically splitting open). 285/75/16's on 8"wide procomp 1079's on tacoma. they are ~7yrs old, less than 40k miles, did one ~15psi rock crawling run about 3yrs ago on these tires. gonna try a set of bfg ta ko2's on some new 16" 8.5" wide rims, level-8 striker-6.

Just upgraded to the 16 and threw some ko2's on. WAYYYYYYYY better. They're so much quieter and no slip in wet conditions.

anyone have thoughts on using chrome open end lug nuts with the black rims. the wheel studs are being replaced with longer ARP studs which are yellow zinc in color, the end of the studs would stick out of the nut but about 0.1" maybe 0.15". the Gorilla nut i am looking at is 1" long (bulge acorn). the all black look is ok, just wondering if seeing the chrome nuts with the yellow zinc ends will be an ok look (an ok different look, etc)? any thoughts?

Those nuts more than likely won't work with the wheels and imho I wouldn't want exposed threads on the lug studs.

the rims are 60degree acorn, i didnt buy the bulge acorns yet, they do have non-bulge acorn too, but Gorilla states that the std acorn is for steel rims. i could get long closed end nuts. any reason you say no to open end nuts?

Well I wouldn't want to have the threads get damaged in some odd way, but also they'd probably rust faster by me in the Northeast

I used them on my 80 series Toyota LC Should have bought 17" instead of 16" had trouble with the wheel weights hitting the calipers. Taped kind on inside of rim. 20150922_120130.jpg

What offset did you get your wheels in?

    What lugs did you use?

    Thanks!

if your asking me it was 0 off set. from what i read they only come 0 off or 30 off set and they are closed end nuts (acorn) from advance auto (dorman #711-346 m12 x 1.5) you'll need two packs

Has anyone had any balancing issues with these? I'm wanting the Trackers, but they are not hubcentric. I'm guessing that is not a big deal, but wanted to ask. Do the hub rings really help and are the provided with the rims?

I have been running Trackers for over a year now. I was concerned about balancing issues as well and so far that has not been an issue. I am constantly getting compliments on them.
