Anyone have an idea if these will fit yet? Want to level the truck and get tires before I bring her home. I've got mod money burning a hole in my pocket

Why do you care about the distance from the tire to the wheel well. The truck should sit level. Those measurements don't need to match

Dude...there has never been a Taco that sits level OE, second gen had over a 2" rake in the front and since the third gen is the same chassis it's safe to say it will be very very similar IE: the exact same.

    Too few to list.
Toytec's Boss lift (2nd gen) was fitted on a 3rd gen, I'm sure 5100's fit as well.

I care because traditionally all trucks have rake for towing and payload
But for off road clearance, appearance, and bigger tires leveling is preferred. I've never seen a factory truck sit level. However the wannabe ridgeline may be an exception (I could be wrong).

Not sure how to say this without being an ass, but this should be common knowledge for any truck owner

I crawled under one at my local dealer, same chassis just a few minor differences like the differences in the frames when the 10's and 12's hit. Rumor has it that the LCA's now use the larger rear cam from the FJ.

Just want to get it done before my wife says, "why do you need to do that? What are the bigger tires for?" She drives a minivan and I have tried for 5 years to get her in a forunner and even offered to help make payments. Go figure

Don't want tires 1 size up rubbing. Spacers are not really an option due to some of the hunting and fishing spots I frequently visit.

For now I want to level, eventually I may add a leaf.

If I can get away with 265 70 17's and no flap rubbing I may reconsider

If leveling doesn't help why would the trd pro be leveled? Just asking, not trying to call anyone out in a 3rd gen shit storm

the rear of a truck is supposed to be higher. That is level for a truck. They all come like that for a reason

Well that was a definite " becasue I said so " - so why don't we transition into some intellignet debate here. Why is there an entire aftermarket industry around leveling kits and why is leveling a truck probably the #1 mod perfromed ? Why do the vast majority of people level their trucks ? My guess to your opinion is that trucks need to be taller in the rear so when they are loaded they still sit level...and I'll say that's what airbags are for. I'm in my 40's so I remember a raked stance being cool but it sure does seem like everyone wants a level truck these days.

its because of that stupid red/white torino from starsky and hutch that had the illusion of being raked. everyone wanted the rake look, I blame them :)

There is a 1" rake on the 2016 tacoma TRD sport. Tried installing adjustable 5100's. Even at the 1.75 setting the spring seat was 1" lower than the stock shock with the spring compressed to the same length for removal of stock. So it would actually lower the front end when installed. According to toytec tech reps the current 5100, although it will physically fit the to 2016's is not the right shock. They tell me the valving is even incorrect for 3rd gens.

I have 5100's set at .85. My truck sits almost perfectly level. Ride was improved not as spongy and yes this setting raised the front! Love the ride on and off road. Does the nose look lower? Valving incorrect?? Started at 1.75 nose was high moved to .85. Happy with the outcome...
