Today I measured the distance from the center of the hub to the lower lip of the fender and it is almost exactly 22" front and rear with maybe 1/16" height difference higher in back.

Thanks, what did they charge you all in at 4wheel parts for both shocks and install?

Just wondering, what will "thousands of dollars" buy you that will make lifting a Tacoma OK in your opinion, and how much lift comes with that? details please.

For me to be willing to lift (any amount)a vehicle with an already optimized steering and driveline geometry I would do the following:

    1. Members with correct control arm pickup points (Where control arm bolts mount) or the necessary fabrication if no member is available.
    2. Brackets to adjust steering components to correct for bump steer
    3. Extensions of an anti roll brackets
    4. The brackets necessary to correct the rear driveline angle disruptions
Optional: I would use CV joints in the back, to escape the mismatched velocities of the front and rear ujoints (on the rear driveshaft), but that is just me

Other than that, I personally would not alter the ride height.
Small lifts can squeak by with less cash, but you must accept that you will be degrading the steering and driveline geometries some.

Sick setup! Pretty much what I'm going for with Bilsteins all the way around. Except I have a shell on the rear of my truck so I'm adding a leaf. I think the shell is a little under 200 pounds.

I like that look though. clean.

Got my 5100's put on yesterday. My tech recommended against going top notch so we went 2nd to last. The back is about 1/8th of an inch higher but more or less level. The ride feels like stock too.

Here is mine set at 1.1. It has a stock rear and sits perfectly level. When looking on an incline it can appear to have a bit of lean.

Here's my truck with 5100's all around with stock coils. Went with the 3rd notch-1.1". The back sits about 1/4" higher. IMG_1802.jpgIMG_1809.jpgIMG_1815.jpg

If you're asking about the middle photo I had my truck on a street that was slightly uphill. I measured it from center cap to under the fender. Back sits about 1/8-1/4 higher.

It's not a bad idea to take these measurements prior to installing the 5100's since every trucks height is slightly different. I've seen people go all the way to the 5th notch with no block or leaf installed in back and truck sits level. I wanted to go with the 4th notch but my installer recommended the 3rd notch to keep a little rake up front. Also, I recommend getting a 1/4" spacer for the front passenger to fix the drivers side lean.

I'm sorry, not the middle pic but the other two.
