Also, from my understanding the front 5100's your ordering and that everyone else has been using (24-239370) is the 2015 Tacoma part number/shocks... from what I've read the 2016 version is not out yet and is expected sometime like September ish. That's why there's all this discrepancy; i.e. ".85 will level the truck, but it's actually not exactly level. 1.75 will make the front end higher, etc."
The 2015 version will work on the new 2016, it's just the ride height adjustments aren't exactly measured for the 2016 model, even though they're more or less the same... kinda, sorta. o_O
The new 2016 version (which I don't think is out yet) will adjust the ride height levels for the new trucks..... most of us just don't want to wait that long.

I'm sure someone will correct me, if I'm wrong about any of the above.

ah ok so the .85 setting currently is like 1.75 on the 2015 and the 1.75 setting is like 2.5 on the 2015.

if that is the case, then I imagine the 2016 versions will only have 2 stops compared to the 2015 versions which have 3.

or they will have 3 stops just adjusted for the 1" higher stance on the 2016.

Yeah, but really it's not going to be a huge difference. I bet most people won't even be able to distinguish a 2nd gen 5100 vs 3rd gen specific 5100s. I went ahead and got them anyway and I'm satisfied.

Ok, so now I'm thinking about messing with my super simple plan.... I have the 5100's on order, as well as the 5160's for the rear. If I set the front to .85, what will happen if I throw a set of SumoSprings on the rear? Will it sit level like BlazingBlue's pics, although I have a TRD OR and he has a TRD sport; is spring difference going to play a factor?.... I'm all for lifting the rear about 1/2" with the Sumo's, and have another functional part, especially for when I tow my Ranger. But is adding Sumo's to the rear going to throw off the level again, assuming I have the front shocks set to .85? So many decisions...

Contact him. I'm not too familiar with leaf spring load reinforcements.

Screw it.... SumoSprings ordered.... God, I've spent some money today. Damn new trucks... always something to add. Will update when I get everything installed. maybe this weekend, or first part of next week.

    To re-cap:
5100's on the front (set to .85 most likely)
5160's on the rear (good for 0 - 1" *see below*)
SumoSprings added to the rear (claim a 1/2" to 5/8" raise)

You think it's worth it to get a alignment, just for the .85 up front? Damn truck is only 6 days old.

You need an alignment with any suspension work. It will throw everything off completely. You have to remove your strut assembly, I compress the coils and swap out the shocks, then set the desired height then assemble/compress the strut assembly back. All of this will require an alignment.

5160s are good for up to 3inches.

Your damn 6 day old truck ain't a 2000 dollar beater mud truck lol. Trust me get it done :)

I'm looking at .85 up front and putting toytec 1/2" spacers in the rear. I bought the 5100's with 0 to 1" lift in the rear, part #24-186728. Being that it is a 2016 that is 1" taller then a 2015 does anyone see any issues with my rear setup fitting the toytec 1/2" spacer? How about with a 1" spacer? Thanks guys so much great info here!

You will have no issues, I have a 1.5 Add-a-Leaf in the rear with the stock overload spring which gave me almost 2 inches. Honestly, do not put those 1/2 inch spacers in. They are pointless. .85 will level out the truck just fine.

I was hoping to maintain a little bit of rake. Say 1/2" to 1", so wasn't sure how to go about it. I have roughly 1.5" rake stock.

You will be fine with .85- eventually it will settle and you'll have about that much.

So here is my dilemma. Got the 5100's all around with front set at .85 Truck sits level (how I want to keep it) I'm about to put in a hybrid bumper (70lbs) and a winch (65lbs). I'm guessing this set up will drop the front end about 1 inch. If I change the setting in the front 5100's to 1.75 after the bumper+winch install, get the truck realigned, I'm guessing I should be roughly back to level and can hopefully get alignment set properly since the added weight should bring the front end down somewhat. Thoughts?

Just (self)installed Bilstein 5100s on my 16 Sport, front only. Set them at 1.75 and love the ride, look and everything about the shocks.

Only issue as of now is with my 265/70r17 KO2s, the tires sit about 1 inch from my UCAs and rub when I am off-road. I am thinking of grabbing some 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers.

Anyone have this same issue or seen someone resolve this with spacers? Im sure I can find it somewhere but definitely not trying to read through tons of thread posts.
