    Ome has coil springs for 3rd gens that give 2" of lift. They have 3 different springs: 886- if you have bumper AND winch, 887- stock, 888- bumper OR winch. They're 170 for the pair plus there's a Tacoma world discount, it's only like $8 but hey it's a discount. Set your Billies to 0 or .85 and with one of those springs you'll be golden.

    This ^^^^ is what I did. Get some OME coils, they aren't expensive and will take care of the lift. I recommend 888.

    886 would be better, but they aren't made for 5100s. You would have to get OME shocks for those to work well.

    Seems like you pulled a wire in the rear? I've never heard of this.

    How do you like your setup? I have the 5100s and just bought the 888 with Wheeler's aal.

    I like it a lot. Rides better than stock. I kinda wish I went with the 888 since they are 5mm taller, but my goal is to fit 255/85r16 tires which should fit no problem.

    I think eventually I want to replace the rear leafs with Dakars(removing the 3rd leaf). I've seen quite a few pics and posts from 3rd gen owners complaining that their leafs sag even with AAL. I don't haul anything over 500lbs (usually just my 4wheeler), but they still can sag with little weight like that.

    Ya I have the stock 265/70/16s with just the billies so you shouldn't have any issues fitting the 255/85 with your setup. I don't keep anything in my bed right now but I plan on adding a softopper soon, I'm trying to decide if I should keep my overload leaf in for added height.

    Hope so, 255/85 are tall (33.2-33.5 depending on the tread style) but they are super skinny like 10 inches even. I would keep the overload if you go that route depending how much it weighs.

    @nabdo92285x

    I saw that you installed Morimoto HIDs. How was the install? I'm thinking of getting the 35w kit. The stock projectors on my SR suck! Very very dim.

    It was pretty simple, I did have some help from a friend who had done it before. I posted some pics on the Morimoto hid thread of what they look like. Pretty happy with them overall, definitely much better than the stock halogens.

    thanks,

    New guy coming in! I have a OR DCLB and Im wanting to eventually get some 285-70-16s. My question is, if i do 5100s on the front with OME 887(no plans on bumper or winch anytime soon) and the 5160s on the back with 1'' AAL. Will I be in the clear? I want to get the truck up a bit and bigger tires for NC mountain terrain but I really dont want a spacer lift of any kind so I dont sacrifice ride quality and dependability. I appreciate the info and help/suggestions. Thanks!

    You'll be good lift wise, but 285s will rub on the cab mount corners. People usually will do a "cab mount chop" so that the 285/bigger tires can turn freely with no rub. You can certainly off-road with them and run these tires using this lift. The 5160s are great, I plan on upgrading my rear 5100s in the future with those. I think you could try wheel spacers but I'm not a big fan of them, but they are safe if you torque them regularly every so often.

    Another tire size to consider is the 255/85. They are taller than 285 by a tad bit, but are super narrow at around 10inches even. People have no problems with these using 887 coils. These tires will not rub on the cab mounts

    Thanks man, what are the B110 rear shocks? Would they work as an alternative to the 5160s?

    They are tundra shocks, very similar to the 5100s. They do have 3 inches of more
    Travel. You have to get bigger bump stops and a u bolt flip kit as well as longer brake lines to run these. @KingRob
