Yeah, but people break and bend shit on stock vehicles all the time.

If I put new brakes on my truck and someone pulls out in front of me and I hit them, was it because my new brakes didn't work as well? :notsure:

Well if you're brakes weren't as strong as they used to be then yes

Would you just automatically blame them since you have no way of proving they aren't as strong?

Or would you just assume that the accident wasn't avoidable regardless of what brakes you had or what you had for lunch(unless it was vodka, lol)?

Why would I have no way of proving they weren't as strong? A 2 piston brake would be weaker than a 4 piston brake. Regardless you should know the capabilities of the current rig

I know that I've measured and figured out that a 1" thick spacer(~2" lift)still leaves shock shaft left which means the shock doesn't become a bump stop so if you do snap it or break it jumping dunes or whatever, it was going to happen with or without the spacer.

The guys with the 3" lift spacers are a different story. Those guys will definitely break shit if they aren't careful. At that point the shock DOES become the new bump stop and those stems aren't known to be the strongest component of the suspension. :homer:

Before I knew anything about suspension I was looking at a 3" rough country spacer lift. Man I'm glad I didn't get that lol, that $250 price tag is tempting

On my 2010 I started off with the 5100s. Bought my truck new and had them on within 500 miles. Within 3k miles I'd say I took them off ride was too rough for me off road and felt every bump in the road. Went to the Toytec spacer lift. Had it on my truck until about 80k miles never had an issues what so ever and she was off road atleast 3x a week. Then I put coilovers on the front because everyone kept raving about how much better it would ride. Honestly I couldn't tell the difference in the spacer lift and the coilovers. That's just my two cents from someone that's had all three lmao. I don't want a full 3" lift on this new 3.5. So I started this thread to try and find the best leveling kit without sitting nose high. Kinda got off topic

I just added Old man Emu coils and Bilstien 5100's and only got 2" out of it so I'm raising the bottom plate of the shock up one notch. Anything wrong with that? Also why does the pre-assembled coilovers have a left and right, is there something I should know installing my shocks and springs in this separated fashion? I'm putting it back together now so any warning on that would be appreciated fast, Thanks.

So what if you put LR UCAs and a 2" spacer and block to level the truck?

If you have spacers then you probably weren't planning on off-roading very much, 2 inches is fine on stock uca. If you are off-roading much ditch the spacers completely and get the uca's, uniball helps off-road. Also get coilovers
