Opinions on running 2” leveling vs lift? I’m not a off road trail guy but could benefit the extra clearance for a bigger tire especially for the nasty winters we see. Really only interested to run a larger tire.

Most guys will run a smaller tire in winter, if they have a dedicated set of snow tires. What is you goal in going larger for winter?

As for what @EXTaco said, google your question and add “Tacoma world” to the end. We have lots of threads about leveling kits and lift kits on 3rd gens.

Welcome to TW - as has been said, search is your friend.

Leveling will achieve an aesthetic change and possibly allow a bigger tire, but Tacomas generally need a lot of work to fit anything beyond 33" (around 30.6" is stock).

That said, take it from a Wisconsin dude that a bigger tire is not going to matter in winter. What will matter is the capability of the tire to pack snow into its treads (snow+snow contact = great traction) as well as local regulations that may/may not allow studded tires and/or chains.

The only advantage I see is that's it's cheaper than a full suspension and eliminates rake (if you see that as an advantage).
