I don't need to do a full lift. I would like 285 tires in the future. I've searched all over the forums and can't see a straight answer. My Taco is new and still stock. If I use a leveling kit for the front, does the rear need to be modified also? Looking at a 3" leveling kit for the front to accommodate the 285's. Not doing major off roading, mainly beach for surf fishing.

20200920_084809.jpg You will be nose high with a 2" level lift, I had to add a 1" block on my chicks mall crawler. It has about 1/2" rake now.

3" lift is pushing the limits where you can start damaging your suspension and axle components.

Cheap spacer lifts cost about $100 to $150 up front.

Upgrading to Bilstein 5100 on all four will get you 2" up front and run about $450 DIY

Simple math is that the rear is 1 inch higher than the front from the factory. My definition of a level kit is a kit that lifts the front 1 inch or 2 inches and leaves the back alone. If you run 3" on the front alone will have you nose high by 2" and looks weird so the back should take anywhere from 1-3" of lift depending on what rake you want 3" block in the rear will be nose down like stock, 2" will be level front and rear, 1' will be slightly nose high but not weird. I'm fairly certain but don't quote me but I think the rear shocks can accommodate 1-2" of lift. 3" needs to change shocks out to aftermarket
