To be completely upfront, don't waste your money on a spacer lift. Most people say this on here, but I don't have a lot of faith in them. Unless your truck stays on the road 98% of the time, place that money into Bilstein 5100's or new coils. The only other instance where I would run a spacer lift is on a brand new truck in which you simply want to clear a bigger tire for looks. Just my $0.02 on leveling kits. I ran one for a little over a week and took it off because I didn't want to risk snapping a shock. I still have it for sell if you're interested.

110k+ on my wife's 4Runner with spacers. No "snapped shocks" as of yet.

The only advice you're going to get here is "buy 5100's!!11!".

    The end.:pccoffee:

When installing the 5100, do you need anything else? Like a 2 inch block in the back or anything?

To level the truck? No, that will do it. Just a bit stiffer in the front.

That's debatable. I believe the ride quality was better than the stock Bilsteins. I have mine set to .85, so I can't speak on the 1.75 setting. I believe the 1.75 would be noticeably stiffer. I placed a 1 inch block in the rear cause my leafs are shot. :annoyed:

No, I'm pretty sure physics and geometry will confirm that my statement holds true.

I'm not saying the ride doesn't stiffen up at all, but it's not really noticeable. I can't even tell a difference. Most people who bitch about it don't even realize what preloading means, so to say it stiffens up is almost stretching the truth.

 No it definitely stiffens the ride. That's the nature of the "preloaded" lift. Most people don't "notice" it because they're replacing wore out 100k+ mile shocks with new ones. Pretty much ANY new shock/coil combination is going to feel like an upgrade at that point.

Hate to break it to ya, but most people could care less if the shocks "stiffen" the ride but isn't felt. I'm questioning if you've ever even rode in a truck with 5100's. What's written on paper and actually occurs during suspension upgrades are two different things. Every suspension is different, so your argument of "ANY new shock/coil combination is going to feel like an upgrade" is invalid.

Seriously? Coming from the guy who has approximately 50 miles on his newly acquired 5100's who couldn't figure out why his shitty truck had such a horrible ride just a couple weeks ago? I've owned Toyotas probably longer than you've been alive so don't try to act like you know something about them that I don't.

Explain to all of us what part of my statement you're disagreeing with, please. :smack:

Most people could care less about a stiff ride?? What??? It's pretty obvious you have little to zero experience with suspension so save yourself the embarrassment and step out of this adult discussion. Thanks.

Well what I make out of your grammar, I've had the 5100's on for 3000 miles so far. The reason I went with them was because my friend installed them on his 2015 Sport. I don't know what you are talking about concerning the shitty ride quality??? I posted on here asking questions about the 5100's, so I knew what to expect. Not once did I claim that I knew more about Toyota's than you do. Not just "Any shock/coil upgrade" is going to ride better than stock. Your liberal statement is just outright wrong there. I've rode in Taco's with Rancho's that have sucked ass.

My grammar? Once again, please point out where I went wrong and correct me?? o_O

You "upgraded" from a spacer lift that was installed on your truck by the previous owner recently, correct? So you're awfully proud of your newly acquired 5100's since they ride considerably better than the worn out 100k+ miles shocks they replaced? Mmmmkkaaay.

Ok well.. this all escalated quickly . To get this back on track.. I have not ridden with a spacer. But have had my 5100s set at 1.75 and then at 2.5 for a while.. out of the two settings 1.75 was of course a smoother ride 2.5 felt like a pogo stick I like 5100s for as a starter lift.. its economical compared to other suspension lifts.. I now have old man emu 885x and dakars as my leaf pack.. why? I needed a new leaf pack mine had negative arch.. I had tried a block for three months and the ride suffered as well as to the pressure they broke under my leaf pack...so to sum up my experience.. there are many ways to lift a truck.. it just depends on how much money you are wanting to sacrifice.. just remember you pay for what you get..

Well, you edited the grammar, but that's not the point. Nope I, myself, installed the leveling kit for hopes of making the truck "level". It ended up being nose high, so I decided to change the setup. The 5100's just provide a good feel on the road. It's not the upmost greatest way of lifting a truck, but it gets the job done for a reasonable price. My suggestion is to stay away from those spacer lifts and apply that money elsewhere.

I edited what?? Do you realize we can all see your previous posts? And we know what you had on your truck and how long ago you swapped your 5100's on? Lol o_O

You're just full of bullshit that doesn't add up lol. You want to disagree with me about something, but you have no idea why or how lol.

    Anyways....

Look at the posts then! The kit was installed literally a MONTH ago!!! I've taken several rode trips within that course. I'm simply stating the obvious. Do your homework if you're gonna start shit.
