Leveling/Lift setup

    Before these I had on 265/70/17 that were load range D. These are indeed load range E. I saw threads on here stating that with the 33’s I should run 40 psi, which is what I’m currently set at. With my 265/70’s for the last 5,000 miles I was running around 42-44 psi, and the traction was much better. I would also think that these tires are just bad in the rain, however other than a difference in size, they are exactly the same tire.

    I think ultimately like you said it’s due to the tire compound being much harder. The ride quality is about the same I would say but perhaps when cornering or under excessive braking I might be getting very minute amounts of wheel hop which is attributing to the loss of traction.

    no. your truck is too light for load range e tires and the tires are not developing enough traction. it is not wheel hop. do a chalk test. when you do the test, you can set your pressures so the full tread area is in contact with the ground.

    I bought a 2018 on July 2 of this year. Unfortunately over the past few days I have spoken to every dealership within 75 miles of me and they’ve all said “we used to lift the 2018 for our customers but due to the sensors in the grill, we are no longer allowed to, for safety reasons”. Yes, I know the system can be turned off, but I guess I’ll wait until my warranty expires or Toyota addresses this issues and launches a recalibration for the sensors once a lift is installed.
