personally, i don't like them. you're better off doing the 3m clear bra yourself to protect your panels from rocks/paint chips.

Since your required to run flaps, I think it looks pretty good. Lexan is used for R/C car bodys, its pretty strong stuff, I don't think you need to worry too much about cracking. But I'm sure they will get scratched up quickly.

I think you should round off the corners a little and paint the bottom half with some type of line-x or something but only on the front side, and before you paint it lay a toyota sticker on it so you can see it through the back.

I believe Lexan is available in black, the coveted of all colors for modding  . Lexan is used to bulletproof vehicles etc., strong and flexible. I think your idea is a great start, just needs a little trimming, and rounded edges. How thick? I want to try cutting these out on my CNC router, just have to draw up the program, mabey even carve in "TW", "4x4", or anything on them, then they would be simple to replicate. The stock ones are great for the highway, but a shorter set for snow would be great.

I think when they get line-x'd up and trimmed up a bit more it'll look great man. Right now it's rough and not so great but... it's a work in progress. I really like the above idea to keep a clear section with "TACOMA" or even "4x4" (if it is) to see through... it'd be really unique!

I think they'll look good. They were practically invisible before but now with linex that should look tuff.

Just ordered some 3/16" black lexan off ebay. It might be too thin, but will flex more for obstacles. I'll cut a few out
