It's less Tacoma and more mod
I thought you could still order a base model with the 4.0 too. Still rather SC the 5.7, torque is nice. You third gen guys probably wanna hold off on asking for another car engine right away.

I like that idea. Would have to see it, but I like those front ends. Go against the grain here with you haha

I saw plenty of Toyota trucks in Peru but I think they were called Hilux. They wouldn’t know what “Tacoma” is supposed to portray down there.

If Lexus built a truck (they won't), it would be a plush re-badged Hilux with a 4.6 V8 motor and whatever automatic transmission the GX is using.

    It's a GX460, not 560, so it's actually less motor (4.6 vs 4.7) ;). The LX570 has the 5.7.

My mistake but the newer 4.6 is better than the older 4.7.

Right, I am aware of the Hilux but I don't think it shares anything with the Tacoma, they sell that Hilux just about everywhere.

They even sell the hilux and tacoma in mexico. real head scratcher. The Hilux is much cheaper as a base model because you can get it as a chassis cab.

It’s where Honda got the idea for the ridgeline. An AWD jack of all trades multifunctional internal combustion machine. At least the Baja turbos had functional hood scoops :crapstorm:

    LS1 swap with nitros.
The only way I see this happen ending is them using the Taco and refining features. Too costly to use a hilux due to crash test data etc.

I could see nicer dash and dials, leather door trim, fancier wheels, HID's, better stereo, and $48,000 sticker. And same old 3.5 with the slushbox.

Why? It’s literally a 3rd gen photoshopped with an Lx front end. Guess no one remembers before the 3rd gen came out people would photoshop a 4Runner trail edition.

Oh yes, I’ve lurked that thread. ‘Twas amazing. And I know what it is, I just haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. The dude’s timing was perfect too. He must have started that photoshop job just as this thread was getting warmed up

If Lexus makes a Truck I can see it being a full-size. Right now Toyota is finally working on a new Tundra and full-size trucks are more profitable then midsize trucks. A Lexus truck priced higher then a platinum or 1794 edition makes more sense.

Full size Lexus?....sheesh....I’m not sure the world is ready for that much ugly.

I’ve always felt that if I designer doesn’t cut it at Toyota, they get sent over to Lexus as punishment.
