I have ordered 2 different plain black license plate frames and neither fits with the factory bumper. Anyone have a recommendation and a link?

Here's how the silicone look against the frame (I zoomed in pretty tight):

I thought we were talking about the rear plate mount.

If we're talking front plates, I have can't abide for my Taco. For me, I had to ditch that massive hunk of plastic and go super low-pro. Redrilled plate to match bumper holes, form, and attach at the bottom. Just me.

The silicone holder might be a benefit here also? I am not concerned about the under bite bit. Someday, I'd like to toss a slim winch mount in there?

Someday is just around the corner...

    :sawzall:

Order it now, and with the current lead times, you still won't have it when you're finally ready.

True, but finally is the operative term there.

It would have to be packaged with the winch and probably a small lift to recover the ride height. Add all that together, I might as well wrap in armor and be done correctly all at once. That total bill is enough to back burner the mods for now.

On the slim bumper, I'd probably pick up that new parts kit option and weld it myself. Of course, that would mean a welder and some learning / re-learning. This Old Tony and AvE are setting a hook there.

Counterpoint, I haven't really found a limit that I need to overcome other than sliders or a tank skid. I could put the same $$$ into a plated enduro and never need to touch a winch or armor. Decisions!

The rear bumper has a thin slot that would not let a normal frame fit down in on my truck, however I found a slim fit aluminum one at Walmart that works but I had to paint it black.

Interesting. The dealer's branded plate ring fit in the rear. It was the the type that the plate snaps into.

I kept it until the ToyotaCare stuff was done.

I drilled new holes in the plastic to mount mine on the rear bumper. The frame was too tall for the stock holes by about half an inch.

Thanks for the ideas! I ordered a set of silicone plate frames for $8.99, I'll stick one on the ranger too.

I was, no front plates in Florida.

Probably if they are form fitting enough.

That is one of the few things that I miss about PA. No front plates.
