Sadly the tires on the tacoma were much better than the ones on my sisters crv. hers lasted 17k wore down to the belts. mine lasted 26k and had about 50% tread left. I had nails too close to the sidewall to repair on 2 tires. so i just replaced them all except the spare.

I hope Honda isn't still recommending 26 psi in CR-V tires like they did on the 2nd gens. The stock Bridgestones simply disappeared in about that amount of time at that pressure. Switched to Goodyear tripletreds and got more than 80k miles out of them at 32 psi, though they were much noisier.

AT 20 dunlops are crap. Slip in the rain, slip in snow, no basic traction other than a warm day. I could activate LSD going around turns in the rain. Replaced them @ 28k with firestone destination AT. So far the AT is really good.

Update: Got new Firestone Destin LE OWL at 46259. OEM's squealed around corners - skidded on rain and snow. They were not down to the wear marks but they were NG and safety wise I probably held onto them too long.

I got about 35k out of mine, which was surprising given the 10 miles of gravel they run on each day. Not the greatest tires but I've had a lot worse. Resisting the lemming urge the Dunlops were replaced with Toyo Open Country A/Ts most of the year and studded Toyo MT-55s during winter, both up one size to correct the speedo. No complaints whatsoever with the Toyos.

I didn't know they would do that. I thought to trade them I'd have to go to a mom and pops type tire dealer. Hmmm.

How the hell did you get 81,000 miles these crappy tires ? Were they completely slick ? I was taking my life in my hand every time I drove it till I got rid of them at 45,000 and should have done it earlier.

I figure I save at least $50 each month after getting rid of my Dunlops. I do not need to change underwear after each drive.

I did not realize that there could be such an unsafe tire allowed on the road as the Dunlops. I imagine that the purchasing agent for tires at Toyota is being kept supplied with new bimbos/escorts and booze from Dunlop.

I got about 50k out of a set and they were wron evenly all the way around!

Personally, I like them...One of the smoothest an quietest tires I have ever owned...

I have owned more expensive sets that did not last half the mileage and they rode and handled like crap! and they were big name brands..

    Keep in mind...Dunlop is GoodYear..

They had 4/32nds left on them, alot of freewat miles and kept them rotated every 5000mi.

This is the key. I've read that the AT20s that are shipped with the truck brand new are the harder compound that lasts longer, gets better mileage, but has horrible handling. When I purchased my truck used with 55k, it had a brand new set of AT20's which are the softer compound. The seem to handle fairly well, even in rain and snow. I'd still rather have an A/T, but I'll run these Dunlops until they are thin. No complaints at all.

The 1300 miles I drove with the Dunlops, they were quiet and except for me saying "Oh Shit" over and over, nary a sound was heard.
