We as well were pleasantly surprised how clean and how well everything looked. The original idlers and water pump still felt great in the bearings. The water pump was leaking due to the gasket failing. The timing belt had been changed once at about 125,xxx and the second timing belt (the one we replaced) had over 243,xxx on it and appeared to be in great shape. Granted this truck has always been a road queen, never abused, never offroad, and always taken care of.

Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
Engines are solid. Over 220K, 190K of them supercharged. Previous owner ran the S/C without fuel/timing mods! So its a very hard 220K at that, and it doesn't burn a drop of oil. Probably need to adjust valve lash, already replaced timing belt and water pump per periodicity. I fully intend on getting over 300K from her unless I sell it.

Got over 176k just recently on my 01. Previous owner didn't take care of it mechanically so I'm left to make her run better. Despite the lack of care, still running strong

Gotta love the Five Easy. Mine's at 184k on regular maintenance. I'll probably be taking a look at the timing chain soon.

For someone who is used to the legendary AMC 258, which is literally bulletproof, I couldn't be happier with what I've got.

It's a complex little bugger, but Toyota designed something I can really get behind when they came up this motor. :D

got 234,000 on mine and really have had little trouble other than maintenance. Idle pulley was replaced and the starter and lower ball joint on each side. That's it. Rick

I switched to synthetic at a higher mileage then you. If it had leaks, I wouldn't switch. And if oil change intervals were lacked on I wouldn't switch. Other ten that you'll be fine

Not so much with modern oils. Synthetics are slicker, so they tend to slip our cracks not seen before. And oils all have the same detergents and seal swellers, unless you get the high mileage stuff. And modern conventional oil can be exchanged with synthetic at any point. The main advantages to synthetic is it runs cooler, doesn't wear out, can see a more extreme range of temps, and has extended drain intervals

04 DC TRD 4x4. 131K, and it is as tight as a drum. No squeaks no rattles...nuthin'. I plan on replacing the engine/tranny when they go. Frame will have to go before I part with this thing.

I just replaced the suspension, bushings, ball joints, tierods inner and outer, axles, UCA's. Cost me a few k over the last few months, but still waaayy cheaper than a new vehicle.

Toyota Dallas/TRD Parts4U gals know me pretty well by now. :D

292,230 and runs like a sewing machine. Replaced a alternator, couple relays, and the dash bevel, replaced the EGR tube twice... All little stuff under $100... Now my pressure switch went out on my AC, replacing this weekend. Other then the paint, you probably couldn't tell what this yota has been through...
