Hi all - I found a set of used 885 coils paired with 9000 NitroCharger shocks. For $50, it seemed like a no-brainer.
They came off a 2014 Tacoma, the seller didn’t know how many miles are on them since he bought the truck used, but they were taken off at 55k so that’s what I’m assuming they have.

Does anyone have input on how much life these should have in them? I haven’t picked them up yet so haven’t been able to inspect.
My stock TRD OR suspension has over 100k

I’m no shock expert but I’m guessing you’ll get a variety of answers mainly due to the fact that shock life will vary depending on how the vehicle has been used. If it was a DD with no off-road, minimal potholes and bad roads, they should have lots of life left. If it was used as a weekend warrior and lived its life in a pothole filled town, they’d see a shorter lifespan.

Bilstein 5100's all around, OME 885's and OME Dakar CS047R Leaf Packs. Snugtop Rebel, pet screens, front slider drop down window. WeatherTech mats. Interior LEDS
I agree with Bdiddy it depends on the previous usage.
Also Those 885's are worth the $50.00 alone, once those shocks wear out your can put new 5100's or your choice of shocks in them.

FWIW, I'd go for it for $50.00

emu struts are known to get pitted easily, I would bet that those struts have much much much less than 55k miles... they are not clean but they look pretty new considering what emu struts look like about 10-20-30k miles of 4 season driving IMHO

for 50 bucks yea that is worth it, if only for the spring alone...

keep in mind the one on the left has the trim packer and that should be installed on the drivers side

Thanks for the info. I thought thought that looked like the trim packer, I’m glad it’s on there

My stock shocks were done at 50k. I'm on my second set of 5100s and two of those are blown - one front and one rear. Might go OME fronts this time. I have a blown CV boot too, and the other looks like it's soon to go.

For $50, I wouldn't hesitate. They don't look too bad.
