Lexus was actually the first to introduce LED headlights for low beam use.

I can't imagine an LED bulb used in a halogen specific reflector housing to have better output than an HID projector retrofit. LEDs without proper optics produce a lot of glare and don't focus the light where needed.

I would love to see output shots of these new LED H4 bulbs next to one of my retrofits.

Honda Accords even have LED headlamps, and they are retarded bright... but led retrofit sounds impossible to improve actual light output

As the few sets ive sold the LEDs are not as bright as the HIDS retrofit or not. These are made for something that is a good bit brighter than stock and is more focused in a drop in application. And yes with the sets ive been testing on a few truck, they are that.

Instead of running a drop in HID kit, the alternative is to a bitchin instant on LED kit that doesnt have the problems that HIDs do. No relay harness to deal with. These are straight plug n play. These look very similar to the ones I carry, and if they are then the its are definitely as advertised. I can only talk about my kits, but these are definitely great.

Mine will be here in a couple days so I will try and do a detailed write up as soon as possible. But h here is a screen shot from the manufacturer

These are different than HID drop ins. The focalpoint should be the same as a halogen but I will compare that when they come.

I have a very hard time believing these are DOT certified. It would be great if it's true though.

If you look up the Honda Accord, the LEDs are actually just the DRLs. The headlights are projector beam Halogen still.

    Too few to list.
2014 Corolla's have LED headlights and they are pretty bright. I have not pulled them out yet to take a look though but they use a projector to focus the beams.

I have a Fenix TK35 I'll put up against any small handheld flashlight. Light output is impressive. I am skeptical of an LED headlight retrofit, but for flashlights they're doing quite well.

I have a flashlight that will throw about 400 meteres. Youd be surprised what LEDs can do.

I should clear-up/rephrase what I said to "shitty" LED flashlight.;)

I'm just trying to say most anything can put a good light output at whatever shorter distance it was to the garage, I want to see the output AND pattern at a distance.

Blindly walking into a new $150 item seems silly to me too, but I guess someone has to be the first one in. I would've figured a retailer would've posted up some new pics by now if they really wanted to push these.

I've seen the ones SE Overland posted. All I could find are the shots of the pattern against the garage door. I really want to see one on road.

I didn't see anything in the comments that gave definite answer on range...all I found in a reply by SE overland on FB was:

"LEDs don't penetrate like HIDs but on low beams and at 55 mph or more on a back highway that is pitch dark I feel totally fine."

So it sounds like they light up things just fine, I just can't picture it in my head on how it compares to stock bulbs. I am guessing a midway point between halogens and HID's.

The DRLs are normal bulbs on all models... Touring have LED running lamps and high output LED headlamps. Bright a f*&k. I own multiple accords, the 13-14 have LED headlamps

Not trying to be a dick, I promise. If you go to both the Honda and Toyota websites and look at the details under equipment options, it specifically states on both of these vehicles "LED Daytime running lights" and either "HID headlights" or "Halogen projector headlights". They do not have LED headlights. You can't even find them as "optional equipment". Now if you can actually find IN PRINT from either of these companies that you can get HEADLIGHTS in LEDs (Not just DRL) then I will happily concede, but Directly from Honda and Toyota, the only LED lights available are the DRLs.
