    265/70/17 Tires and Upgraded Wheels
I am looking to add a 1.5"- 2" suspension lift on my wife's Tacoma. We would like a bit of additional ground clearance for camping and mild off-roading to get to hiking trails and what not here in Colorado. The truck is 2020 TRD OR SB riding on 265/70/17 tires which we love. I have kind of narrowed my search down to a few options but would love your opinion. The only other thing that you should know is this also pulls our RZR and will soon have a bed rack with a RTT for our camping needs so I want to try to maintain some rake if possible to not sag a ton when I am pulling the RZR and when I have the RTT on the bed rack.

    1. Toytec Boss Aluma: This kit starts at $1300 but I have been told to keep the factory rake I would need to add new a replacement leaf spring rather than an add a leaf which adds $600. They also say I "should" replace the UCA which are another $600 so all in this option is around $2500 unless you guys help me determine the progressive add-a-leaf will be fine as well as the UCAs. Also love that this is fully aluminum which to my knowledge none of the rest of these or many others are.

    2. Eibach Pro: This kit is only $600 but I would need something for the rear. I love headstrong offroad and think I could use their new 1.5" 3 leaf add-a-leaf for about $200 and be set...seems to cheap to me but have read some really good things and would allow me to replace the UCAs and still stay under $1500.

    3. Ikon Stage 2: This kit base cost at $2000 but includes reservoir shocks for the rear and a new progressive add-a-leaf pak. Ikon does not recommend replacing the UCAs with this option so that makes it a bit cheaper than the Toytec.

    4. Billstein 6112: Not going to provide too much info here as I think this is my least favorite but wanted to get some input.

    5. OME: The kit I would get is the OME with Dakar pak. This kit is around $1400 but man does it come with a lot. I like that it has the full leaf replacement but from what I can tell they are not adjustable and a fairly basic kit. BUT I have read amazing things and for under $2k I could buy this and new UCA...hmmmm

    6. THIS IS A PIPE DREAM but throwing it out there. I showed my wife the King Stage 1 and she fell in love. Side note we have a cement colored tacoma and the rzr is cement-ish also with blue shocks so she wants to match it...anyway. For $2600 I can get the King Stage 1 with the HS 3 lead add-a-leaf. I read you really should do new UCA so that would make it the most expensive at $3200.. Love their set up but is it worth it?

Given all the options above or any combination of them. What do you guys think? Any pics of builds with these systems on similar tire size would be appreciated! If you have a bed rack with or without RTT that would be even better. Would like to order something soon but want to make sure I get something that will meet our needs and stay on budget as best as possible...

THANK YOU in advance for the helpful replies!

I had a full OME kit on my truck for years but have been slowly upgrading to Kings all around. OME is a good, midrange kit. It's held up great, but it was time to upgrade as I grew older. The difference from OME to Kings is noticeable.

Whatever option you go with, get a full leaf pack replacement. That will be the best replacement option. OEM Toyota leafs are shit. Anything you add to them will be a bandaid and the lowest common denominator will be the stock leaf packs.

OME would be my vote. Save some $ for your 2016 and get yourself some Kings...

I don’t have mine on yet but what about Ironman Foam Cell Pro? A full kit for under 1600 with the coils built or 1440 with them unbuilt. See them here. Not as popular in the Tacoma crowd yet but they are growing. See a great discussion on them here. Might be worth a look for you. I ordered the stage 1 FCP and received almost everything within 10 days or ordering. UPS lost one of the leaf packs so We are giving them till tomorrow and if they are not found Ironman is going to send out a replacement. I looked at all the same ones you mentioned and decided on the Ironman. In my price range, good reviews from those that have them and they are rebuildable. After getting the coils built locally I’m going to put the fronts on this weekend and hopefully get the ECGS done this attempt.
