Get 255/85/16s, minimal trimming if any (I have heard of 2nd gens not needing to trim for 255s). Save money on gas vs. 285s, have cool mud tires, spend the other $4100 on trips to places to use said tires.

    Win win win win.

Disclaimer: 255s aren't Instagram cool, so if you overland or find yourself with multiple daily desires to 'send it' or hashtag things with 'builtnotbought'- they may not be the tire for you.

    PS welcome to the forum

Yeah go with the 255 or K02 34x10.5x17 .... way less trimming. 4" or 6" lift will be a can of worms of problems IMO. You could stuff tall skinnies into a 2" lift and avoid all the vibrations and other issues that come with those big lifts and monster tires.

Less than 2-1/2" lift....285/75r16s.....not much trimming beyond CMC.

    NO rubbing.
    NO vibrations
    Still get decent gas mileage.

    Too few to list.
I used to run 285/70R17's on my 11. Lifted with 885 coils. No mudflaps. I used LR UCA's and no rubbing on road. Off-Road was a different story. 285's also liked to set off my VSC while making turns over 20 mph. I had to switched my ABS/VSC off.

I just installed my lift and 33's with no rubbing. Had to remove the front mud flaps though.

OME 886 in front, Dakars in rear, 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks. No rubbing at all.

i have a '12 too. just got Cooper ST Maxx 255/80/17. they are 32.8" unladen, per Cooper's website.

i'm on Icons but the billies posted by @ChadsPride would be good for your stated use.

you may have to do some light trimming but nothing major.

I went IMG_5567.jpg with 255 ST Maxx if you don't want to trim, just remove the flaps. The maxx do not seem that narrow.

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, rear bumper, and skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
I've got just under 3 inches of lift and extended UCA's. I'm running 255/85/16s, Dick Cepek Extreme Country tires with no rubbing even at full lock. Mud flaps removed. No trimming.
