Hey Marie, new member and first post. I am finalizing the purchase of my new 2017 Tacoma TRD OR DCSB 4x4 today,a lift and larger tires are at the top of my list for modifications. I would like to get the maximum possible lift economically, front and rear without having to replace UCA's. 80% use as a DD and 20% off road. Also what are the largest tires I can put on the stock 16" wheels with your recommended lift modifications.

    TIA

    Hi Marie!

I'm currently running 285s with King Coilovers and Total Chaos UCAs. I have a Snugtop shell, and I'm weeks away from taking delivery of my Pelfreybilt front and rear bumpers with tire swingout. I'm still stock in the rear, and I need to beef it up soon. I don't want to sit too high in the rear, but I need to be able to support some weight without sacrificing right quality. May I have your suggestions? Thanks in advance! @HeadStrong Off-Road

    @HeadStrong Off-Road
    Well
Hello Marie so I understand you are the go-to here on tacomaworld about lifts and suspensions for Tacoma's, I'll try to get right to the point.
I have 2016 TRD off road double cab short bed ,with a 120# bumper / winch setup and of course I want to take it up as high as I can without breaking stuff, and with out spending my kids college funds or as little as possible of it, sound normal so far. I'm not a rock crawler I do however use the truck mainly for hunting offroad lumber /mountain trails...
So this is what I'm thinking so far and please correct me or add any suggestions you may have because you're the pro........
Up front Bilstein 5100 with OME 888 springs
Rear.. Bilstein 5100 extended length with headstrong 3leaf progressive add a leaf keeping overlords in or would light duty Dakar be more appropriate. Your input please it's time for me to get this done thanks

I may be a bit early in seeking advice, but the more I read about suspension the more questions I have. Either way, you are my vendor of choice due to the impeccable reputation that has clearly been earned here.

I currently have a 150-180lb cap on my truck (which gave me about 1/2"-3/4" sag in the rear). I also have 150lbs worth of rock sliders and a 55lb front bumper (less the weight of necessary deleted stock parts) about 6+ weeks away from being installed. Hence, my being early ... it would help if I could provide measurements for the best guidance.

My goals (in order of importance) are as follows:

    1. On and off-road ride quality improvement over stock Hitachi shocks. This is more of a daily driver than an off-road machine, but I do value off-road capability for when I need it. Not a serious wheeler here, but I do hunt for firewood in some sketchy places.
    2. Lift. Under 2", or at least back to stock height/restore the factory rake.
    3. Prep for towing a travel trailer in the future without affecting ride quality *too* much. (3500lb/350lb tongue weight on my truck, as it is the 4cyl). I'm not sure if a the progressive AAL, full leaf pack, air bags, or some combination of those is necessary here.

I will not be adding a winch to the upcoming bumper for quite some time, so you can remove that variable from considerations if need be.

Not sure if I am asking for impossible balance, which is why I am coming to the pros for advice.

    Halp! :)

Hey Marie! I'm looking into getting a little lifted with my 2014 tacoma 4wd dcsb. I am highway and city 70% of the time and off road 30%. Looking for a lift that provides a smoother ride than stock. I have a high clearance allpro off road rear bumper, and I do absolutely no towing. Can you help me out on a packaged lift of some sort? What are my options? Thank you!!:fingerscrossed:
