    Save yourself some money and get 5100s for the back. With setting the front to 2.5 your not going to notice the difference in the back. You can get some extenders if you want more droops.

    My advice, keep OME with OME. Doesn't make much sense to mix and match parts when there are already shocks designed to work with the Dakars. Bilstein's aren't valved or designed to work with Dakars.

    In a perfect world yes! But practically no. I don't see myself spending the funds it would require, at least for the next 5 years or so.

    Long term plans include a softtopper for road trips, and 265/75/16s later this year. Sliders and skids in another year or so, then that's it. I don't really want to dump too much money in the truck, beyond maintence and light upgrades for trips and an occasional light wheeling trip.

    Ok so 5100s in the back instead of nitrochargers.

    Would I need to worry about brake line extenders or bumpstops?

    And no they aren't but they work just fine.

    Brake lines aren't necessary but some people do extend them, me being one of them. You'll want to get some bumpstops.

    Already laid my plans out, pretty clearly I think....in my first post and again somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd page. And I'm honestly not sure what beavis's set up is or who he is(I'm assuming a member here). Although if it is at all similar to my end goal then I'm all ears.

    Not trying to be an ass at all here, but did you read the thread at all before you posted?

    Rake is where the rear of the vehicle sites higher then the front. Looks silly on a car but is desirable on a truck. It allows the bed to be used for carrying stuff without going nose high and shining headlights into the eyes of oncoming trafficc.

    N182's have 1.2in more travel than the 5100's in the rear.... in fact the standard 5100's offer no extra travel over the stock TRD shocks. I vote N182's and its why im running them in the rear of my truck with the 2in AAL and 5100's in front.

    I did some more research on rear shocks last night...and I came to the same conclusion. Technically since I don't wheel, the 5100s would probably be fine since they'd probably never get completely extended. I'd still rather not risk it. N182s are roughly 50 bucks more for the set, and they were designed to be used with the Dakar leaf pack. I have no desire to compromise anything just to save 50 bucks. I'm definitely going with the n182s.

    I know they look awesome, but why get sliders and skids if you aren't planning on doing any heavy wheeling?

    I don't plan on any HEAVY wheeling...no crazy rock crawling or anything stressful enough to break suspension parts. However, my brother in law has gone to Moab twice, I'd like to eventually go with him and try a few of the easy trails. I'd like to do more trail riding and get off road more than I do now.

    I have absolutely no experience offroading and a desire to get off road a little more than I do now (dirt roads lol). So I figure within the next 2 years, as opportunities come up, some armor will be an important part of me learning how to off road while avoiding unnecessary damage. My understanding is especially if someone's inexperienced, some sliders and a couple of skidplates will help avoid unnecessary damage. All without spending the thousands required for full front/rear bumpers, winches, etc.

    Long answer to a simple question....don't know if that was clear or not. I do want to go off road eventually but I don't ever see myself doing it enough to warrant more than sliders and skids.

    And 5100s with an extension offer ~inch more than N182s which is why I suggested using it with a Dakar pack not an AAL. Why not save a little money? Its not like the dude plans on hitting whoops in the desert going 80, if he was he wouldn't be looking at Dakars in the first place.

    With what you plan on doing in your truck it wouldn't be a compromise to save $50. Just an opportunity to spend it on something else but to each their own :thumbsup:
