I'm on my second set of uni-balls, after 6 or so years, I have TC arms with heim joints, the heims are the originals with no issues, I chose those over just bushings to give me more adjustment because of my 6 inch drop bracket lift.

It looks like removing the relocation bracket has moved the sway bar enough that it misses the wheel and rim!!!

After I fixed that I turned my attention to the splash plate or whatever the hell we call it. Good Lord it was bent all kind of ways, it may not come across in the photos but this thing definitely has seen better days.

I took it outside and manhandled it all over the pavement, took out all my frustration, I put it back and now it's nowhere near the tires even at full lock turn.

    Yessss!!!

I just took a shower because I was fucking disgusting, and now I'm about to go test drive.

Below I have some pictures of the plate before and after and also the damage that I presume it caused to my tire that cut is one of two.

    So far it did!

Yes she seems to be able to turn lock to lock now without exploding.

Wait, what so you mean? Don't they go around 360 ?

Yes, unless they're seized - which is also normal on Tacomas. I'm glad you didn't have to deal with that too. It's shitty.

So glad to hear it!! How's she drive? I'm hoping you're clear of these issues without spending any money.

Yeah even my mechanic was surprised, one of his guys has a 4x4 2nd gen who had a bad time with them.

So far seems to be just fine, it feels like it's easier to steer but I don't know if that's a placebo or not... The only lock-to-lock turning I've done I did very very slowly since I was a bit worried... Haha.

Not that I would normally do it very fast mind you.

I was going to remove the sway bar but unfortunately I realized that I do not have any hex keys!

So for now I'll take care of maintenance items and then look at lowering the front.

Thank you to everybody for your assistance and suggestions!!!

    Awesome.

I’d keep they sway bar unless you plan on flexing the front suspension out. It’s benificial if you do a lot of on road driving.

I've thought about it both ways.. even though my truck isn't 4x4 I still drive her like a truck. I don't worry about bumps or uneven roads, I just fly over that stuff. (Except for dangerously deep holes obviously).

So the idea of maximum road contact without issues is cool, but body roll isn't cool.

I may try it some day but for now I'll keep it on. Though I need to swap out the links... They are trashed.

Okay so the splash plate "magically" bent back out again. I seriously don't know how. The tire almost contacts it now but that means the tire didn't bend it...

Pictures showing the different from left to right

    Weird.

Take an angle grinder and cut that portion of the bash plate off on a sweeping angle.

I think the plate is flexing for some reason and it ends up stressing that area which then flexes and bends outwards. The design of the plate and angle means it is much easier to flex out then inwards.

What I would look for is any frame cracks that is the contributing factor.
