I've been reading thread after thread and am still confused. I love the look of 33s with a 3" lift. I don't do offroading with this truck. I use it as the daily driver and haul a trailer with my quad and my dirtbike to the trails on the weekend.

Looking for some advice for a lift that will level out the truck and make 33s fit easier. Also don't want to cause undue wear on the driveline as when I haul the toys to the trails, I have about an hour ride each way on the highway @75+mph. Any advice?

All depends how much you want to spend. 5100s with stock springs plus an AAL in the back would probably check all your boxes for relatively cheap. You'll need a CMC for 285s, though. Axle shims and/or carrier bearing drop should alleviate most/all driveline vibes.

As cheap as possible. It won't be going offroad. I know what 5100s are but not an "AAL". And it's a gen 3 if that matters.

Aal. Add a leaf. You put an extra leaf spring or two into you stock leaf pack.

You want the cheapest option? Get a spacer lift. Will ride not that great…..but the spacer lift is about $150 for front and back. Or cheaper if you can find a used one on Craigslist.

My first lift for the Tacoma was a 3” front and 2” rear spacer lift that I got for $60 off Craigslist and it worked for the first 3-5 months before I upgraded my truck

When you say "not that great", can you expand on that?

Changes the suspension operating angles in "not a great way"

    It'll ride stiff

The bumpstops wont protect anything if it bottoms out really hard, you can bend/damage the lower shock body

If you can appreciate the way a Tacoma feels and handles, do it the right way and get proper coilovers.

I bought the entry level Icon setup and have been really happy with it for the past 5 yrs. Its set around 2-2.5 inches in front, leaf pack in the rear.

The way it's valved makes it nice and tight in the corners (good for street driving) and loosens up over bumps/washboards off pavement

Eibach pro truck stage 1. Put a small block in the rear. Eibach also sells that.

Ha! It's funny how many Jeeps I see around here that are jacked to the moon and never have/will see even a dirt road.

That's fine. I threw the 265/75/16s on there and noticed a small drop and I guess a bit more won't matter.

Do the pizza cutters require the CMC? I just looked that up and :/. Some say it's not too bad. Maybe just get a few beers in me and...

If you don't mind rubbing all the time then no need to go and get a CMC :sawzall:

What I don't get is how some folks say they rub and others are like nope, no rubbing. You'd think they either do or don't.
