Ok so I dropped my truck off Friday at the shop to have my OME lift installed.

Specifications: 885x coils, front 90000 sport shocks, rear N128 shocks, and a 2 inch Deaver AAL. (I have 265/75/16 tires)

I went by and checked after they closed yesterday. My truck was sitting there, the lift was on, but I guess it wasn't aligned. I can't get it until Tuesday. As you can tell, it has a pretty major bro lean. As I've been looking at other members trucks with the same lift, I noticed that they seem bigger than mine. As for the bro lean, I checked out the rear, and the add-a-leaf was just sitting on top of the leaf pack... Isn't it supposed to go on top of the overload? Is that the reason the rear doesn't seem to be lifted much? Also is it just me or does it just seem a bit small for a $700 3 inch lift(compared to others)?

How do you mean the AAL was just sitting on top of the leaf pack ?

885's no top plate spacer should get an AC 2 3/4 - 3" of front lift

Did you add the 5mm trim packer , driver's side ?

The only way to tell the actual amount of lift is before and after hub to fender measurements

It's the tires that make it like small. Most people run 285's with a 3" lift.

    I wish I would've, but the shop's about 13 miles away.

Yeah I should've measured it too. And I gave them the trim packer. Im not sure if it's on. Sorry I can't be a huge help with those questions.. But it was like they just bolted on the AAL on top of the leaf pack. It doesnt look like its doing much

It certainly doesn't look like you got any lift in the back.

Alright here we go. In this pic, you see where the actual AAL is. The red line I drew is where they stuck mine

Is there a chance the AAL's were simply laying on top of the leaf pack, so as to be installed on Monday when they open?

IF that is how they truly meant to install the AAL,
    1)make them fix it,
    2) go over every part of the suspension that was to be modified and make sure its done 100%, (check torque... they used a torque wrench right?)
if it is not, tell them to fix it before you accept the truck

I thought of this too......but wouldnt they have to disassemble the rear to then put that leaf there? Unless its literally just laying there and zip tied until the mechanic can get to them on mondat but even that seems weird and a potential theft threat.

If they put the add-a-leaf there and installed it............then you better go over the front too man. This is exactly why im doing my own install with some TW members. Every bolt will be torqued.

    Keep us posted.

Ive set things in the place they are to be installed, and called it a night before. Leaving them in that spot reminds you that they have to go there. However, being as the vehicle is left out, yes. It could be a theft risk. Not sure how many folks go around poking thier heads under trucks to make sure the AAL's are installed so they can take them though.

Tried to tell my dad we should install it ourselves. He refused and made me pay $330 to send it here. And this does make me worry about the entire suspension. So believe me, I will check every bolt and screw myself.

I can understand the advantage of putting something where it should go.....simple logic. Just not when the truck is moved outside. But I guess if they are ziptied like I said or fastened then it would be the same as putting them on my work bench and putting a postit on them reminding me where they go.

It really comes done to whether they are bolted in or just sitting there waiting for installation.

C mon OP.....13 miles is nothing to settle this!!!! lol jk

It's not a good price if the shop isn't even competent enough to install an AAL correctly...

OP, if they screwed up an AAL, as stated above, go over EVERYTHING they would have touched.

Good evening everybody! Well I asked my mom if I could borrow her 09 BMW to go check out my truck (long shot I know!), but it worked!! So I put some gas in it and drove down to get some pics for you guys.

Here's what I got. The leafs are in fact installed.... wrong hahaha. I also to a pic of the front. Everything looks to be fine but I will be asking them to check the torque.

You've got to be kidding me......

I would be afraid to drive that thing, wondering what else they did wrong.
