Hey guys I want to get a lift for my 1st gen 4WD Tacoma and I was wondering what is the best 3 inch lift that still has functionality for under $900?

It's going to run a little over your target ($1236) but the best overall for the price point in my opinion is OME. @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc can answer your Q's and help you decide. Take a look and give them a call (ask for Josh) - Depending on your current setup, you might consider 882s. Again, lots of options and best to chat with the sales folks over there. Mention TacomaWorld and they'll usually give you a discount

    3” old man emu lift
I’ve had several lifts. Rough country, Rancho, pro comp, icon and old man emu’s. The three first all had issues out of this the pro comp was the best. Only issue I had with the pro comps was with the rears leaking one time but I will say their customer service is top notch. If I where you I wouldn’t consider the first two at all. Poor customer service, poor product performance. The icons. I had a stage one 3” lift with icon leaf pak and icon upper uca’s w/delta. What a ride no complaints other than their customer service. Got a very arrogant ahole when I was trying to register my suspension for a warranty. The old man emu’s are on a 99 Tacoma TRD I just recently purchased. The ride is very nice. Haven’t had a chance to off road it. Heading to the snow next weekend. Price wise you get what you pay for. If you go cheap you’ll regret it. Spend about 2k and you can get a good lift. The icons cost $4400.00 total cost with labor and a few extra parts. The old man emu’s are around the same cost but the ride is amazing.
