So I read the lift guide at the top of the lift kit suspension page but I'm still a little confused. I want a fairly inexpensive lift for my Tacoma. I don't want to go cheap and buy something thats going to just be a waste of money but I'm not in the market for something that a seasoned off road driver would get. I rarely go off road, just mainly like the look and better ride quality. Right now the Tacoma looks too low to the ground. I saw someone post this kit and it looks nice: http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/procomp/toyota-3.htm. The guide was also talking about UCA's being needed with a 3" lift? Need help please.

Once you go over about 2 1/2 " of lift up front you will ( some say may ) need aftermarket UCA's in order to get your alignment correct .

anything over stock height would mess up your algnment since your changing the stock geometry of the suspension, but you would def want some uca's if you go any higher then 2". i would suggest bilstein 5100's or OME for your application.

OME 881 coils with OME nitrochargers shocks up front. TC UCA's OME Dakars with extra leaf in the rear. Warn 8000 winch with 80ft custom braided synth line. Custom 60ft synth extension. All pro tube bumper, Hi-lift jack, Safari Snorkel, Wilco tiregate. 2019 Jeep JLUR.
As far as I have heard, anything under 3" does not require uca's. I know of countless people including myself with a 3" lift/leveling kit and allignment is not an issue. Of course i'm in the first gen catagory so unless that is changed for 2nd gen, you will be alright with a basic 3" lift.
I would start with toytec and a set of 5100's or just use your stock coils. And also an asl for the rear and good quality shocks. Billy's as well.

Thanks for your responses. Definitely going to lean towards new uca's. Anyone now if the procomp kit I posted earlier any good or other recomendations? This would be my first lift so not sure about reliability.

Pro-comp full suspension 3 inch lift, Built right UCA's
I jus got mine lifted 3" and used procomp. I read on here earlier that some people didn't like it. So far I really like it. My ride is smoother than stock and havent had issues.

I know this has been dead for awhile but I now have the funds to start this project. Still getting the OME kit from toytec I just need to know if I need new U-Bolts and what size. Also if I should get the rear shock covers or if it's just a waste of money.
