Hey guys, what lift kit do you guys recommend for a 15 DCSB prerunner. Im really torn. I was looking at the fox ultimate kit http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/FOX-Ultimate-suspension-for-05-Tacoma_p_1226.html for a solid 3" lift, but then again that's extreme I guess? or the bilstein kit https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/05-and-up-tacoma/3-lift-kit-with-bilstein-5100-height-adj-coilovers/ or the toytec boss https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/05-a...ss-suspension-system-2005-2013-toyota-tacoma/

these are the 3 im pretty much deciding on. I don't intend to do any to very little offroading because I live in san Francisco. also I wont be doing a lot of driving, probably 3k/year. but one things for sure, I want to lift my 2wd truck.

opinions from people who have these kits and how you like them and did you run into any problems down the line, and did the kits affect your warranty from the dealer.

The Fox kit would be a waste if you don't plan on off-roading much. Bilstein should be fine for your needs.

If you don't mind, why would you want to lift a street driven Pre Runner, which is already nicely higher than the base truck?

By the time you are done with the suspension, the wheels and tires that are sure to follow, you'll have dropped some real cash, potentially created a rougher ride, reduced MPG, reduced street handling, reduced max braking performance and created higher long term maintenance costs (just in tires if nothing else)

Additionally you'll obviously scratch the OE warranty on all the replaced bits, and likely get a hassle from the dealer on other warranty work (even if their hassle isn't legit)

Is it a 'poseurs gotta pose' thing?

You just haven't thought it through?

Or you're flush with $ and just dig the look?

Do your own thing man. I'm just curious on the motivation............

I'd go for the fox kit. It has compression adjusters so you can tune the ride and it looks like it would be good for those times you may want to go off road.

Nothing yet. Old truck had the works.
x2 spindles are good for 2wds. No reason to spend more than 1000$ lifting a 2wd truck. Anything over that your putting 4x4 performance products that are going to be unused.

Not quite sure how obviously was deducted from his post

For all we know he's up to his schnitzel in debt already. Not that I care. As I said in my post, 'Do your own thing man. I'm just curious on the motivation............'

That would be HIS motivation, not your interpretation :p

Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
OP, Frist let me say that there is nothing wrong with wanting to lift your truck. If that is what you want to do then go for it. I like yourself have a prerunner and never see off road but like the lifted look. As for the kit, I myself would go with the Toytec Boss kit. Good luck.

As stated above there is nothing wrong with lifting a 2wd prerunner. With that said you should look at Maxtrac spindles, bilstein 5100's all the way around and change your leaf pack with some allpro's.

Why not OME? A reputable 3" lift but looks to be cheaper than the Boss.

And ditto on...Lift it if you want....Who cares what others think, do what you want to it, it's your truck.
