    Hello everyone,

I am a new Tacoma owner, just bought mine a week ago and am prepping to begin adding all the extras i want to add. I want to start by picking your brains on what 3" lift would be best suited for my uses.

What i plan on adding by May:
    • Rooftop tent system
    • tires in the range of 275/75r16
    • upgraded front bumper
    • rail cage over bed
For now and always i will mostly be on highways with the occasional off road camping adventure, no climbing rocks or anything wild like that. In the summer i will be going to Alaska but the same goes there, i like getting to places off the beaten path so i'll be off road quite often along the way.

I've read the rough country is not the best quality for multi purposes and i would rather spend more money to get a more dual purpose lift system put on. I also wonder if it is a good idea to add any higher quality shocks along with the lift...complete newbie here on lift systems so any and all info would be great. Thanks!

Don't let the keyboard engineers persuade you. You don't NEED an expensive lift, especially is your not a hardcore offroader. for the front get some adjustable struts and the rear do an AAL, or a lift block. if you want to spend more money, a full leaf pack for the rear.

If your looking to not wheel to much and just need a good 2.5 to 2.75" lift I would look into a bilstien/ome lift with Dakar rear leafs. Once you go to 3 or more inches in front list yiu will run into issues. With the weight your adding you will want to get the heavier duty coils and leafs. Remember if you get the.lift before adding weight it's going to be a super stiff ride. Look up Headstrong Offroad. You can get entire kit for around $1300 if I remember. If you want higher quality than that your looking at icon, ads, fox, king and looking to spend $2500+ easy.

Can you explain to me what a full leaf pack actually does? also the lift block? I need the elementary information so i can fully understand this process. Thanks!

a lift block is a spacer under your factory lead pack. a block will wear out you leaf pack faster due to the added leverage the axle now has due to the spacer block. $ cheapest
aal (add a leaf) adds an extra high arch leaf spring to your factory pack to create lift. $$
an upgraded leaf pack will have higher arch to get lift and more leafs to make for a better ride. the more leafs in the pack generally the better it rides. $$$$ most expensive
