if you want 3 of lift and want to save some money i go with a spacer , imo i dont think theres anything wrong with a 3in spacer i had one one my truck before i completely redid the front susp, and it drove and felt just fine, for the bilsteins there awsome (i have them), but if you want around 3, you wont achieve that with the bilsteins even if you have the bilsteins at the highest notch it onlly puts you at 2.5in of lift and your gonna have one stiff front end, feeling every bump on the road.

was worried about the big spacer on mine since its a 98 and the coils and shocks are not as new as your tacoma's

I put the Bilstien 5100s on set to 2.5 in the front and a AAL in the rear. i didnt notice much of a rougher ride but ive also had full size Dodges before this. the girlfriend said that she noticed it a big differrence but i figure its a truck its not a cadilac

i have about 7in. of lift in the front and a 1 1/2 block with a aal in the back. in the front its bilsteins 5100 set at the lowest setting with a 3in spacer, i also have the camburg 4in lift spindles, along with the total chaos uca's, i really shouldnt have the spacer on with the camburg spindles but money is a bit tight right now so thats why i am using them instead of the ome lift springs, but imo theres nothing wrong with a 3inspacer by itself

unfortunatley i didnt get off road at all with it stock and not much after the lift. the first step was to get the lift so i could fit the 285s. even after the body trimming there is still a small rub with a hard left turn up an incline, but its just a quick bump when i first hit it.

Go with the spacers if your low on funds. I went with spacers and its fine. No problems. But i used slightly extended struts made for the 2.5 daystar spacer.
