Hi! (It's quite a text, grab a beer!:)).
It's my first lift ever. I always did my own mechanic though.
Here's a few things I don't want, a few I want, and some of the things I don't even have made my mind on yet.

That lift is mostly for the look. I don't want a winch, don't want to change bumpers. I don't want to buy kits that are of poorly design. Budgetwise, I know that if I start with a limited budget of 1000$, I'm gonna end up ditching 5 G's anyway, so I won't even try to fix a limit right now. I want to keep my truck for a long time so I want a kit that won't damage anything on it, well as much as possible. I don't mind changing the UCA's if it's necessary.

I'm planning on doing my lift this year, and change the mags and tires next year (probably 32" if 3" lift, 33" if 6".
Now the things I didn't even made my mind on:
    Rear blocks Vs. AAL ?
    3" lift Vs. 6" ?
Suspension lift kit Vs. body lift ? (or both)
(I'd like to have your opinion on these matters)

If I understand you well, the best choice would be to change the whole assy in front(shocks & coils) instead of using the original ones and adding spacers. I know what is a top plate spacer, but what's a preload spacer?

I know that there's alot unknown in all this, but i'm taking your advice, looking around to find some answers!

    Thanks!

I don't know what AAL he got but mine were already flat and work awsome. wheeleroffroad.com
Camburg makes upper control arms as well as total chaos but and are alittle bit cheaper the last time I looked. They both are sweet and get comments.

If you ever tow a trailer the add aal are the way to go. If you want your truck to ride like shit, get crappy gas milage, and be worth less after you put more money into it go 6". On the other hand if you like to rock crawl go 6" .

    Just my .2
Ive put 80K on mine and have no problems with the ride or alignment. Good luck
If you got a question give me shout

$1000.00 will get you a pretty good set up. If you can add a couple extra 100's to it, you will be set.

I would recomend an OME spring/shock up front, with some Total Chaos UCA's. For the back OME or Bilstien shocks, and a good AAL.

+1- I just paid ~1500USD for my rig- OME Shocks and Coils for the front, Wheelers 3Pack AAL with OME shocks shocks in back. Brake lines front and back and TC UCAs (on the group buy price).

Haven't installed it yet...but I'm excited about what folks have said.... Knock about 150 off for not doing brake lines...You can get a single leaf AAL for about 75 less than the 3 pack...

Just to give you an idea....

Yeah kinda...The OME step up sells coils and shocks. You reuse stock parts from the suspension mounts to build the whole set up.

Coilovers tend to be a complete unit and will normally be adjustable...but they do come together like coilovers in the end....

If I remember correctly the total was around 22 hundred for everything. Coilovers, rear shocks, upper control arms, diff drop,
