Hi everyone, new to the forum here although I've been reading heavily and have never posted. I currently have a 2023 TRD Off-Road and am looking to add a little bit more clearance/ off-road performance. My use case is as follows, the truck is my daily although I am an avid skier/hiker so I take my truck into the mountains a decent amount. I also like to take day trips with friends to go out on the trail. Eventually will most likely be adding weight to the front and rear with fabricated bumpers.

I am thinking of running a decent suspension lift in order to clear 285s on the truck and get some more suspension travel. After reading through a bunch of the material on here (great stuff btw) I wanted to get some feedback on the options I'm considering, or any advice on options I'm not.

Currently looking into a ICON stage 2 lift
    • 2.5″ Coilovers
    • 2.0″ Rear Shocks with Remote Reservoirs
    • Add-a-leaf
but I've been seeing a lot of talk about bilstein 6112/5160 rxt packs, and just want to know what could be the best setup for me? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

All comes down to budget. A lot of people on here seem to run the 6112s and eventually upgrade if that tells you anything. If you carry anything heavy, consider swapping a whole leaf pack vs add a leaf

I’ve run the 6112 on my 4runner for the past 7 years without any problems. That being said. If I was to do it over again I’d do the Icon set up with adjustable upper control arms.

    Non yet.
I have an ICON Stage 4 with 255/85/16's. No issue with rubbing anywhere. The ride if very good on and off road and no issues with alignment. Simple installation. It has the add a leafs. Although I have not had any issues I still tell myself I should do the full leaf pack as I load it down a lot when camping.

Icon makes a good kit and quality components, nothing wrong there and we have them on sale right now! Depending on the weight on the back and what terrain/speed youll be driving, you may way 2.5s in the rear for better longevity and more dampening out of the back end. We have an Elka 2.5 kit with remote reservoirs and dual adjusters for a 3" lift if you want to explore some other options! give us a shout or dm and we can work you up some special pricing and packages!

Thanks for the advice! When it comes to weight that I'll have running in the back, I'm thinking about putting a fabricated bumper on the rear sometime down the line but no specific timeframe in sight. I am always looking to make enhancements and might end up running a rack with a tent set up, but that's nothing I'd be planning for in the near future. If that's the case would an AAL suit my needs? If I end up doing all the extra add-ons (rack, tent, etc.) I will probably need to do a whole new leaf pack, but until then I'm hoping an AAL will be fine?

Also trying to figure out the best UCA. I've seen multiple threads on dobinsons, JBA, SPC, etc. I think I'm just looking for a covered uniball design that fits my budget. I think I'll go with the freedom offroad.
