He said he doesn't know about lifts. Dealership put lifts to make them look good, to attrack buyers. Just a lift will make the truck "not good to look at" with those 31" dunlops or rugged trails, so there must be something else to build the whole package.

I hope he will post back to shed light to this mystery.:)

3" Revtek kit, , Wet Okole seat covers. Now with 285/70/17 BFG all terains on Moto Metal 955 17x9 chrome wheels. Tube steps, Tinted windows. Used to have 265/70/17 BFG all terrains on Mickey Thompson Classic Bead lock wheels,
I got mine for around $2500 and that included the kit, tires, wheels, lug nuts, alignment, and even the cost of shipping everything to Hawaii. By the way I installed the kit myself. The local off road place here wanted $600 for the kit and another $300 for installation. Did it myself for $350.

the dealership by me sells lifted tacomas and tundras. They had a tacoma with a toytec spacer lift and aal with granite alloy 17'' wheels on mickey thompson mtz's (265/70), and a grill. For all the extra stuff on the truck, they added $3,400 to the sticker price. So I'd say that 3k from a dealership is perfectlty feasable. Depending on what rims and tires he got, he may not have over paid as much as much as everyone first thought. Of cousre it's still a steep price, but it's not a "end of the world, drive your truck through the dealership"

I was thinking the same thing. Either what you said or he's locked up in the big house for a mass killing at the stealership. [IMG]

Have you noticed lately how the plethora of FNG's never come back to formally address our most mellifluos parlance?

so i went back to the dealership and before i asked anyone about my truck i went to the parts departmen and asked about the lift kit. Price for kit and install. I found out the charged 1460 dollars for it. now thats the dealer price. So now i had some questions. I asked for a manager, had to wait like 30 min. finally got to talk to a manager asked him whats up, showed him the price from the parts and told him how much i was charged. He said they must be having a deal on the kit, or it wasnt the same kit. I said no same kit no deal been that price for awhile and will be for alot longer. Then he said let me look into it. 15 min later comes out with all my info, says there is no proof that i paid 3000 for the kit there is only one price for all the stuff i had put on. Kept telling me all kinds of stories and then says to me " I dont have 1500 i can just give you" I said i know that. Then sais there is nothing i can do. said i can talk to the GM if i want to, Ok lets do it. So he tells me that the price i paid includes all the little things they did. Including " 4 wheel allingment, recalibrating the speed sensors" he was just trying to confuse me and i started telling him all i know about the lift kits. He then told me I can talk to the service manager and what he tells me would make my head spin from all the little things they did. Any way they said there is nothing they can do for me so i might go to Toyota Canada and let them know what is going on but i havent decided yet. And i will get some pics on soon

I highly doubt Toyota Canada will do anything. What you need to do is talk to the GM and Dealer Principle and just don't let it go away. In BC, we have the VSA - Vehicle Sales Authority - I bet you have something like this in Alberta. They kinda police the dealers and will handle complaints buyers have, such as deposits not being returned and problems such as yours. Research it a bit as they will help you out also. But yeah, talk to the GM and Dealer Principle, tell them they took advantage of you and ripped you off big time. Just don't lose your cool, sound like you know what you are talking about and I bet they will help you out. Sorry, but they made huge money off of you. And yes they do have $1500 they can take out of the deal and give to you, and I bet they still grossed you even from there.

Definatley talk to the GM. I paid $2000 for lift and rims and tires. Make sure you have the invoice saying you paid $3000. If you dont have that or at least something from your bank saying you paid that much than you are royally screwed.
