seriously look up small claims court, if they have something like that in Canada.

It is normally very cheap, like $30 or $40 bucks here in the US to file a case and can claim up to $3000. You can actually be awarded 3x the amount claimed so ($9000) for your troubles.

Make sure you collect info on the lift and the purchase contract that states the price of the vehicle and blue book value of it. I think you could win and it would be obvious enough......don't let them get away with it!

really, I don't think harassing the GM at home is the best idea.

Either go legal, or go public. See if local TV stations have a " help the consumer" type of segment. Or the local newpapers. Try and find a lawyer that specializes in these types of problems (auto issues).

And if they keep pulling the "we can't give you money back," see what they CAN do for you? 20 free oil changes? New set of wheels? Some lube so your ass doesn't hurt so much next time?

I hope the BBB in Canada handles disputes more efficiently than in the US. they are worthless here! I had a dispute w/ AT&T (who didn't?) and they were just forwarding emails between the 2 parties. didn't mean to HJ the thread but small claims will probably be a better option...maybe write to a newspaper w/ invoices and price breakdowns.

Wow that sucks, I hope it all works out for you, and there are a few Toyota tech's floating around here that might be able to help you with hour counts on an install for more ammunition so you can get something back from these guys.

If you can call Global, CTV, CBC, and try and get the story out into the public eye. You could also go the fun route and start a website just for complaints and BS from the dealership, they have been known to cave once bad publicity hits home.

    Good luck

i'm sorry, maybe i'm missing something, but did you not sign on the line to the agreed vehicle in question for a certain price? sounds like you got taken, but honestly you didn't have to pay that much for the vehicle. i went through this thread quickly so maybe i missed something about them being deceptive or not getting all the equipment that you were told would be on the truck. If that is not the case I would say you're going to have to eat it and get in the back of the line behind the other people that get taken every day.

Still no responce from the BBB or the dealership. I haven't
looked at small claims court just yet. My next move is I am
going to go to the police station and see if I canpress fraud
charges on the new car manager and/or the dealer manager.
If I can I will but if not I will look into the small claims court.
    I'll keep everyone updated.

^^^ gotta agree with this one. It sucks for sure and I hate reading stories like this, but as someone mentioned earlier, "Due Diligence". You signed on the bottom line and that's pretty much concrete right there. You've gotta do your homework and be informed PRIOR to the service and not AFTER. You live and you learn...in this case hard lesson.

Shame on the dealership for being greedy ass thieves. I think the best thing you can do is be vocal about this and go to the media, BBB, Ripoffreports.com, etc and rob them of any future business with other potential customers. But as far as getting any kind of money back, I think the odds are against you. Good luck on the fight.

I know that its a buyer beware story and I did learn alot about dealerships and the salesman that work there. I did sign on the dotted line. I was told I was getting one thing and they installed a totaly different thing, again buyer beware. It was a hard and expencive lesson but a good one. I know Im probably not going to get anything back from the dealership, but if I can mess with dealerships buisiness and the two guys that lied to me Ill be happy. And i will never quit messing with them, All of which will be totaly legal. When there is a new update I will come and let every one know.

$3000 seems way too much. Good luck trying to get your $$ back bro.

I was just quoted by a Toyota Dealership in Richland, WA to do a complete 3" Revtech lift kit (materials, labor, plus alignment) for $736.10. Too good to be true?

Would TW suggest a different approach?
