Hello I'm a 100% novice at this so sorry if I sound stupid.
I want to lift my truck approx 3" deffinetly no more.
    I have a 2011 trd 4 door with a 6' box.
I called a local guy that sells lifts and he said he has a ready lift maybe? It's just blocks. With this lift would I get vibration noises an would it make my ride rough? I want to run 265's for tires. Or should I go suspension lift? I'm assuming suspension would be a lot more coin and better product but if the blocks wouldn't make my ride to bad, for the price I would prob go for it. Anyways any input would be highly appreciated. I live in Nova Scotia Canada so if people no dealers local that would specialize in this stuff I could quiz on would be great also. Thanks

    Yes sir
Are you looking to offroad at all or do you just want the looks of a lift and you'll always be on pavement?

Blocks are awful. Your ride will be extremely stiff. But if you're going to only be driving on pavement and not off road then maybe that's what you'll want.

    Hello. I have a 2009 TRD 4 dr.long box and added a 3" lift from Supreme Suspentions.Under 200.
3" front spacers and 2"rear blocks.I love it. I did install it myself with the right tools and floor jack, jack stands and a half a days work. I did also paint my rims. i'm running BFGoodrich AT 265's. The ride is fine. No vibration. Make sure to get a alinement and use Lock tight.

Well I deffinetly won't be out on the trails and I mostly do want it for the looks yes. But I don't want a crappy ride or have vibrations. Approx how much would a 3" suspension lift be? And obviously that would make my ride better right?

I'd recommend going the route of old man emu for a 3" lift. You're going to be looking at around $1000 for the lift. I'd go with OME 887 coils for 3 inches of lift, an add-a-leaf for the rear which will give you 2.5 inches of lift and then OME shocks all around. You'll also want to get an aftermarket set of upper control arms to improve your camber and caster degrees because your going to be really out of alignment after your suspension is increased by 3 inches. The UCA's will tighten up your steering essentially and then just get an alignment.

I'd also stay away from spacer lifts and blocks (I've had spacers ). Spacers and blocks are going to be pretty stiff riding and you shouldn't offroad at all with either. There's a big difference between putting a rectangular block on top of your current leaf springs and adding an extra leaf spring to your leaf pack. Same goes for the front, a 3" piece of metal doesn't compare to having a longer coil.

Hey. If you have the money replace the parts for a better lift.
LOL. I have a master that watches what I spend on my Taco.

How would adding a 3" block affect your shocks? Do they have enough travel to compensate for 3" lift + pot holes/etc? When you drive off a curb, your shock has to extend that distance as the wheel drops. If you already have the shock pull out 3" will it be able to do that?

If not, you'll be paying for the lift, then paying again to repair stuff.

Yes, I wouldn't get the diff. drop though, they do more harm on tacomas than they do good. You'll need basic tools and a spring compressor, or an alternative to a spring compressor is by using the weight of the truck to compress the spring. I'll see if I can find the video of it, a few other guys on TW like this method better and feel it's actually safer

Toyota dealership? They are toyota shocks after all. Otherwise just google bilstein shocks canada and there are a ton of websites that pop up

    No problem

Hmm never new they were toyota shocks. That's cool. And I've asked toyota they don't sell lift kits at all. And the other local dealers all try to to sell me blocks.
