so my new truck (‘19 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4) squats slightly lower in the ass than the front.

so crawling under truck and using the completely scientific method of eyeballing and guessing, looks like it has 2” spacer in front (above springs) and 1” in back (block below leaf springs).

so how much $ am i looking at to raise the back a little?

how difficult of a job is it to possibly do myself (i spent 2-1/2 years as a mechanic at a Ford dealer back around turn if the century)?

    and info/help is greatly appreciated.

Stock Tacomas dont tend to ride low in the rear unloaded. Are the front blocks aftermarket installed by a PO? Guessing you're opposed to removing them?

pretty sure they’re all aftermarket. don’t know who installed them as they were on the truck already when i bought it.

looks like they went taller in fron than tear to level it, but probably used too big of a difference so now rear sits slightly lower.

was able to get under there with a tape today.

    rear blocks are definitely 1”

fronts are difficult to measure as they are recessed on top
they are at least 1.5” and maybe 2”

what do y’all think? get 1.5” for the rear?

I wonder if you need them at all. Maybe for tire clearance?

    thanks.

any particular brand as a recommendation.

or at least a brand to avoid if there’s some royal crap ones out there.

Have you thought of using add-a-leaf instead of blocks? That should put you at the right height and has some benefits over blocks such as reducing axle wrap.

explain this one to me like i was a 5 year old.

is it legit adding another layer to my leaf springs?
i’ve never seen that done. How difficult? How expensive?
    pros? cons?

It looks like you have a one inch block in the rear. You can either go 1.5 or 2 inches on the block or put in an Add a Leaf. Toytec and several other manufactures offer an Add a Leaf. I put a Toytec AAL on my rear axle and it gave me 2 inches in the rear of my Sport. You can do the work yourself, it is not hard. However you will need some tools; a set of jack stands and a floor or bottle jack. A pair of ball joint clamps, which you can rent from your local auto store.

Option 2: pay your local suspension shop to do this. Should cost you about $150-200 bucks
