I recently installed a lift on my 2007 Tacoma which consisted of Fox 2.0's with a 1" spacer in the front with a 1.5" block in the back. I installed it myself and it went smooth and I am very pleased with the ride quality and overall performance. But....

I hear the slightest change in how it rides, it is a very low pitched rotational noise and hum. It almost sounds as if my truck is in 4 or 3 gear instead of D. This sound is very minimal and mostly can be heard when I am coasting down a hill and my foot is off the gas. Once the gas pedal is engaged the engine sound is louder than this new noise.

Is this normal? Anyone else had this happen? I haven't go an alignment yet but it doesn't feel like it is out of alignment. I am planning on upgrading to 32 or33's in a few months so I thought I would wait. Should I not worry about it?

One of the rear driveshaft u-joints or carrier bearing has probably been on it’s way out and is now showing it’s true colors.

See if the sound goes away in 4WD, if it does then it's the front diff needle bearing bad

Replacing that carrier bearing should take you no longer than 30 to 45 minutes
